Some players Miss the birth of their child because of footballing commitments, never mind 6 weeks after having a baby. Gerrard sits on the bench in league games if hes injured never mind a cup final. Lads been injured for ages and has been a pundit on SkySports during his injury for Southampton and his boyhood club Liverpool but cant even make it to wembley to watch his team mates win a cup, no excuse im afraid
You hear about players missing games all the time due to the birth of their child so name me some who missed it. Also, as I said it's the reason I don't blame him. God knows what the actual reason was.
Glen Johnson missed a game because his wife was in labour, but he was back playing in midweek, Walcotts missus gave birth 6 weeks ago

Yeh, I was under the impression that it was anyone who made an appearance but I could be wrong.

Szczesny got a medal and didn't play a single minute.

Think all the Players who start and are on the bench in the final get a medal plus anyone else who has featured in previous rounds

In the PL you need to play 10 games don't you?

In the FA Cup I'd guess that you only need to make an appearance.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I think the amount of games needed to claim a medal was reduced a couple of years back. I remember a bit of a fuss being made when a Utd player was just short of 10 appearances, but he, and a few others who were just short, were given a medal in the end.

These examples of other players showing up are completely meaningless, everybody is different. I'm not even going to list reasons why he wasn't there, he owes nobody an explanation.

Rich that the one person who's criticising him most is somebody who absolutely hates Arsenal. If he owes an explanation to anybody (he doesn't) it's the Arsenal fans as we're the ones who support him. True Gooners like me & Goonie trust that he's committed to the cause though, at the end of the day he's been here 9 years, could've left for more money a year & a half ago and has generally shown a lot of fight & resilience on the pitch (particularly in the NLD's). If it was somebody that I doubted before then things might be different, but he's shown enough passion on the pitch and that's enough for me.

Everyone is different, and it's not that he owes an explanation but people are allowed to judge him for it nonetheless. In this instance, the likes of Me, Scholes, Phil etc don't believe something like recently having a child is enough to not turn up to an FA Cup Final and have used other examples to justify our views; because we believe that's the correct way to conduct yourself.

I think all players involved with the club from Youth through to Senior level should be present for a game like the FA Cup Final. But lets be honest, i'm sure he has an extremely valid reason to not attend and im sure if it weren't a very strong reason then he'd have been told his attendance is compulsory by the club, as im sure is the case for Diaby and a few others who have fallen off the face of the earth. Furthermore, I doubt his team mates would be face timing him if his reason for not showing was because he couldnt be bothered. Surely they'd have thought 'fuck you mate' and left him be. The fact they've gone out of their way to include him in the celebrations suggests to me that had he been able to attend he would have. For all we know his kid could have a life threatening illness or his Wifes Mum died the day before. Who knows. You'd be silly to assume he didn't show up down to his own choice. I doubt he'd feel that way, and im sure as hell certain the club wouldnt stand for it either.

Again, playing. So he wasn't injured. Walcott would have fucking been there and played had he not been injured.

Tbh this is just a nonsensical story, it's the type of thing The Daily Mirror would report. Just a load of shit that nobody with a brain would ever really care about.
