Lol I don't care what you can confidently say or not, again, for me cheating has nothing to do with intention, it's just simply the breaking of rules. You can accidentally cheat. If you don't agree you don't agree, I won't think any worse of you. |

Contravening the rules is not the same as cheating I'm afraid lad. |

I tell you what annoys me more than people's incompetence in understanding the word 'cheat', it's the fact that it's so fucking irrelevant. So what if Keane did technically cheat? If you accidentally cheat (which isn't possible) then you cannot be scrutinised for doing so, only for the other crime you've committed (violence). So basically, the whole debate was irrelevant. |

I can't remember how that shit debate started but going back to page 4 you posted this... ''Of course it's cheating, he's breaking the laws of the game. If he hadn't been spotted it would have advantaged his team as they'd have had a first choice play substituted'' Why did you post that last sentence when you believe it doesn't matter? Rollingesque digging IMO. |

It was a response to your post about seeking to gain an advantage, I was just pointing out that it would actually have given them an advantage had it not been spotted... |

Cheating is an act of lying, deception, fraud, trickery, imposture, or imposition. Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one's own interest, and often at the expense of others,[1] Cheating implies the breaking of rules. The term "cheating" is less applicable to the breaking of laws, as illegal activities are referred to by specific legal terminology such as fraud or corruption. Cheating is a primordial economic act: getting more for less, often used when referring to marital infidelity. A person who is guilty of cheating is generally referred to as a cheat (British English), or a cheater (American English). |

Why though? It was always going to get spotted and it was always going to result in a red card, always... And if you didn't believe that was relevant at the time then why didn't you say so?
