Slightly less optimistic. I thought by now we would have seen some of Utd at their best, a team which looked very different to the one of 07/08 with Ronaldo at the centre of everything. Something's still missing though, namely, a world class striker and midfielder.

I still think we can win the PL though and I still think we can win the CL, a little bit of luck is needed in that competition an we may get it, you just never know. But I would like to see us sign a great midfielder, I think it's the key to us moving forward as a club and staying at the top.

Im pretty optimistic that Blackburn won't be in a relegation battle this season. We won't be aiming for europe, our goal will be to stay in the top flight and have a good cup run.

Would be great if we can beat Villa and reach the final, that plus survival would be a good season i think.

Roughly the same, very encouraged in some respects, but left feeling we could have done better too. For instance, 1 loss in 18 games is great and has far surpassed what I would have expected pre season, but 7 draws in a row is really poor. With the January window coming up I'm feeling confident we can still finish 4th although there is a bit of doubt in my mind, which is exactly how I felt before the season.

I feel the same. I thought we'd compete around the top this season but not put any distance behind us and United/Chelsea, just hang in there like we're doing. Good thing is i think we've got plenty more to come as long as injuries don't continue to fuck things up, and although United and Chelsea fans will feel the same, that gives me a bit of extra confidence that i didn't have in 07/08.

Same, always thought we'd finish in the top 4, but didn't and still don't think we'll win the league this season. Still hoping for silverware though...the fa cup.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Just the same, I expected to retain the league and hoped to be the first to retain the CL. We're looking good for both atm, in the league I expected both Barca and Madrid to struggle more than they have with the new attacking signings - notably Ibra y Ronaldo - taking longer to settle. As it is both teams have been pretty dominant, Barca still looking good for an undefeated season.

I really think we can retain the CL, the only team anywhere near us is Chelsea - though I accept that we could easily be felled by Milan or Madrid. We negotiated the group stage well enough, obviously we'll know more come the knockout round draw.

Hopefully we can get knocked out to Sevilla in the Spanish Cup, I don't think we've got the squad to complete another 'triplete' and we could really do without the extra 8 -10 games.

Winner.

More optimistic. I was expecting practically all our first team to leave and I thought we'd finish mid-table. In all honesty, the league's a joke apart from us and West Brom, so unless we get a load of injuries we'll win it comfortably, and all the players we could have realistically kept have stayed! :D

I'd be stunned if you boys didn't come straight back up mate, strange thing to say, but you seem to have quite a bit of stability now.

Yeah, I'd agree with that. It seems like going down has turned out to be a good thing in most ways. :cooldude:
