Have you ever wondered how they manage to identify players so well? For instance, a lot of time when a ball is going into a crowded area and a goal comes from it, I can't tell who's scored, but the commentator always seems to know who's made contact with the ball. Perhaps it's because they have to concentrate and look closely at the whereabout of individuals whilst I don't, or maybe they have helpful technology?

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Hahaha yep, defintely, especially when it's two very similar looking players. I think because they have great views and they really are fully focused on the game at all times it helps and also because they have the squad numbers and names infront of them it can often be a case of seeing the number on the shirt quickly and glancing at their notes.

When Robinho was at Madrid it must have been so hard for the commentator, Marcelo at LB and Robinho at LW :D

I thought Messi had scored Barca's first one Wednesday lol. I think it's just a lot of practice tbh, but no, i literally have no idea how they manage it.

Winner.

When you're in a good seat at a match it's easier to tell than on a tv screen. Basically.

Commentators watch it on a screen mate.

Not if they're actually at the game. They have the screen there to watch replays etc. but i'm sure as standard they watch the proper action. It would be highly illogical not to.
