Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

If i was Capello well no I wouldn't have him in the squad. How many strikers will England take? Four? Five?

I would take Rooney, Defoe, Cole, Crouch and Bent.

Like has been said already, Rooney and Owen is not a great partnership, I don't know why people still say it is. It's likke one of those partnerships that can look promising on paper but it's been tried many times and it didn't work out. Rooney + Heskey or even Owen + Heskey would be a uch better option.

I think Rooney and Cole are the two that have to go, I would take Crouch over Heskey because well Cole offers most of what Emile offers plus he's got a bit more about him and can actually score goals, so Crouch like him or not, can offer ssomething if England are up against it. That leaves 2 places up for grabs and for me it's between Defoe, Bent and Owen and the first two are in great for this season and are much quicker. Owen has a lot of work to do if he's to break into the squad.

Defoe and Bent - both of whom have never scored against a decent side
Bents scored against every Top 4 teams this season.

Yes, but to say he's never scored against is decent side is fucking stupid. How many games has he played for England? About 4 or 5, most of them coming in pointless friendlies and late sub appearances.

and he still fails to impress or cement a place. i would rather have owen on the pitch during the finals looking for a goal than bent to be honest.

Ffs Cockney pull it together, my point was Bent has no experience; I was backing that up by saying he's never scored against a decent side, it doesn't take much brainpower, considering we're discussing England, to think that I might be referring to his England performances and not those at club level.

Winner.

He should be in the squad, along with Sturridge, Crouch and Defoe. Rooney and Bent still left with a lot to prove this season.

Owen can fuck off, Capello needs Bent.

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

yes, should take 5 strikers, rooney, crouch, owen, defoe and either bent/heskey/cole

even if he dont play, he offers world cup experience that a lot of the other lads aint got, and maybe just maybe could make a difference for 20 minutes

hes worth taking just to have the option
