Maybe Chelsea have told the players to keep quiet to stop them getting into trouble. I think the club and FA are handling it quite well for a change.

Referee Mark Clattenburg will not know the outcome of the Football Association probe into the Chelsea complaint until next week.

It means the official looks set to miss a fourth weekend of matches even if the governing body announces that no action will be taken

Football Association will not take disciplinary action against referee Mark Clattenburg

Clattenburg: "I hope no referee has to go through this in the future . . I cannot wait to be back involved in the game"

Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel has been charged by The FA for an alleged breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to his side’s game against Manchester United on 28 October 2012.

It is alleged that in or around the Match Officials’ changing room at the end of the fixture, Mikel used threatening and/or abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour.

Winner.

MARK CLATTENBURG has accused Chelsea of trying to wreck his career.

The FA yesterday cleared the FIFA ref, 37, of racially abusing Blues midfield star John Obi Mikel.

Chelsea alleged he told Mikel to “shut up you monkey” during last month’s clash with Manchester United.

Clattenburg said: “To know you were innocent but that there was the opportunity for it to wreck your career was truly frightening.

“Racism has no place in football and this experience should not discourage those to speak out if they genuinely believe they are a victim of abuse.

“The messages of encouragement from those inside and outside the game helped me through the most stressful time of my professional life.”

Chelsea held secret peace talks with Mark Clattenburg and his 15 elite referee colleagues on Monday.

Bruce Buck, the Stamford Bridge chairman, travelled to the National Football Centre at St George’s Park in a bid to repair the damage caused by the false accusations of racism that were levelled against Clattenburg.

Part of the discussion even focused on the possibility of Clattenburg taking charge of a Chelsea game in the future.

Ramires is reportedly adamant that he heard Mark Clattenburg make a racist comment despite Chelsea admitting their 'regret' over the affair in a statement on Wednesday

Now City accuse Clattenburg

Those glad to see the back of the Mark Clattenburg racism saga would be advised not to read today's back pages - the referee is back in the headlines, this time amid accusations from Manchester City.

The match official has found himself at the centre of another controversy over his comments to players after City accused him of winding up Gareth Barry.

Barry copped a one-match ban following charges of aiming abusive language at fourth official Clattenberg during last weekend's derby loss to Manchester United.

Yet the Premier League champions insist Barry was only responding after Clattenburg - who was cleared last month of racially abusing Chelsea's John Obi Mikel - had made derogatory remarks of his own.

The Daily Mail has the story on its back page, as does the Daily Mirror, which reports: "Boss Roberto Mancini refused to reveal what those alleged comments were, but it is thought Clattenberg was sarcastic towards the City man".

"Gareth is a serious man and a serious player and I don't understand why Clattenburg wrote or said these things about Gareth Barry," said Mancini.

"I don't know if it comes from this problem after Chelsea, but I think every fourth official should understand that at the end of a game that you lose in the last seconds...

"If he (Barry) said inappropriate words against Clattenburg, I think he (the official) should understand this," added Mancini.

This lad is always getting in trouble, Been dropped for having a private conversation with Neil Warnock and for having his own transport from a game so that he could go to an Ed Sheeran gig. Bad Boy of refereeing.
