Without a doubt he is in the top 10 players in the world. The guy is fantastic. I can't see how you come to form that opinion in all honesty. Actually, there is very few players in world football i'd swap him with. Arsenal stole him tbh.

he's a level below the top echelon of players imo (i.e. top 5-10)
Nobody has ever said he is top 10. That's such an elite fucking level. Rooney is nowhere near that level though, Shava is.

Disagree. Messi, Ronaldo, Iniesta, Kaka, Xavi, Torres, Villa, Vidic, Terry, Kaka.

The top 10 best players in the world at the moment.

Messi
Iniesta
Torres
David Villa
C.Ronaldo
Arshavin
Vidic
Xavi
Gerrard
Yaya Toure

In no order though.

There is outsiders like Rooney, Van persie, Fabregas, Rio, Eto'o. Just my view though.

Yaya Toure? No way. He isn't even a top 20 CM in the world, let alone top 10 player.

Are you guys serious? Yaya Toure was just amazing last season. I think he is brilliant. Seriously underrated. Has so many great attributes you would want in a defensive midfielder and more. Has pace, can dribble, can score goals, has a good shot.

Yaya doesn't really offer too much for me. Strong in the tackler and great drive. That's about it.

Winner.

Thing is, while Rooney has never let the world alight with his scoring, he still knocks in a considerable amount. Last season he netted 20 times for United, and was prolific for England. I fully expect him to improve on this total this season following Ronaldo's departure, simply because the team will probably be based more around him rather than him trying to fit into a team made for Ronaldo to shine. In other words, I don't think we'll see him out on the left that much.
