Rooney, without a doubt. Just a more complete player with a greater pool of talent.

For all Rooney's endeavor he isn't this inspirational lifesaver some people portray him as. If a team was in desperate need for a goal I'd put more money on Arshavin getting it; Rooney's ability to perform under collective pressure is questionable in my opinion. That doesn't answer the question though so I'll have to think about it.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Full plaudits to Wenger though  While Sunderland have spent £10 million on Cattermole, Wenger's spent his money wisely on player that will be crucial to Arsenal's game in the coming years. Super buy!

Completely agree and was just about to say something along those lines. Right now it's difficult to compare the 2 of them, i'll have to wait until i've seen Arshavin for a full season before i judge

Scholes, that isn't necessarily true. Rooney has often come to the party when needed most, certainly for United that is. Countless tie saving goals of his spring to mind such as:

Porto in the CL
That brace vs Tottenham last April
His second vs Milan in 2007
etc etc

Rack your mind, and you'll be surprised.

Porto in the CL, presented to him on a plate and very early in the game.

Exactly GB, when he scored it, apart from the crazy shouting, I was thinking to myself, it's about time he pulled a rabbit out the hat when we need it most.

Scholes ignores the Milan example that was only over 2 years ago but my word what a feeling that was when it went in, great second half.
