To play Hangerland vs Celtic he had to be signed before the 10th of August. As long as we sign him before the end of August he can be registered for the CL the same as any other player. I've read at least twice that Hangerland will not be cup tied as Fulham and Arsenal are in 2 different comps.

if we got him, i should imagine he will be played along side gallas, giving vermaelen time to to bed in, giving us him as cover for gallas and djourou as cover for hangeland... but thats just me

That makes no sense at all. So Gallas goes down and Verm comes in, but if Hangeland goes down Djourou, not Verm comes in? No offense, but that's the gayest thing I ever heard.

He's played in Europe already, doesn't that mean he can't play in Europe this season? If so, the deal is off
No, it doesn't mean that. We haven't registered our squad for the CL yet, so if we sign him before the Celtic game he can play in that and the entire CL season. If we sign him after the Celtic game we can still register him in the Winter for the knockout rounds.
He's cup tied in Europe until Jan...Fulham getting that last spot I'm afraid. Still, for domestic duties he'd be a brilliant buy for us...hope it happens.

dont be daft,

what i mean is if both gallas and hangeland were injured we'd have djourou and vermalen as back up, which id be happy with

wenger would replace the injured player with the player he saw fit at the time

and im sure its not the gayest thing youve heard

Good player. He's not top four standard but good enough for Arsenal's defence... :deepthought:

WTF. That made no sense. The guy is comfortably in the top 10 CBs in the league and would walk into both Arsenal and Liverpool.

The CL and EL are connected though when it comes to being cup-tied I can't think of an example at the moment but I'm 100% positive there have been cases where a player played UEFA Cup football and couldn't play CL in the knockout stage.
The case of Huntelaar and L.Diarra with Real.

He shouldn't be good enough for any top four side but he is, Arsenal, which means you have a weak defence. He wouldn't walk into Lierpool.

Yes he would. Skrtel and Agger are both massively overrated and had average seasons last year.

The knock-out stage had finished once they moved to Real???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart
