I love how ZZ first of all replies to my post, then five minutes later edits that post with a question mark, a few minutes after that he replies again, and then a few hours later he replies once more, this time talking about articificial islands. He's probably been mulling over my post for the last 3 hours.

Cockmac, the surface of the water and the surface of the ocean are different things, and are you sure they use soil and sand, never had you down as an architect.
i remember watching something when i was ill and they had to build an artificial island in the sea and they just piled up all the shit from the bottom of the sea.

I'm not scientist but if I chucked tons of soil and sand into the sea the sand would do nothing and the soil would separate in tiny pieces, I think there's a bit more to it mate :D

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

They poured tonnes of sand and rock in 10.5m shallow waters in Dubai to create the Palm Islands. They laid down the rock and used dredgers as well and then once it got to a certain length they poured in the sand.

Interesting concept for a stadium, looks very impressive but then it'd have to be if it's going to replace the Camp Nou.
