What is scart?

Also, the description keeps mentioning a VHS player. Is a VHS player necessary?

Ok mate. So anything will connect with device to my PC? If so then I'll definitely pick one up.

Last question, is the recording just a file that will appear on my computer? And how good will the quality of the recording be?

Thanks a ton mate.

you can record in different formats to your pc mate, avi, mpeg etc, the quality is dvd quality, you can even record to hd standard,

thing with this is that it allow versatility, once you record something you can do all sorts of thing to it, like professionals do, you'll love it, you'll be uploading your creations all the time for us to see

Wow thanks a lot mate. I'll head over to Best Buy and see what they have. Also, do my laptops specs affect the quality of the cideo at all?

My RAM is 2GB and I have a 2.4 GHZ processor if that helps.

Also, I see things that are called USB TV Tuners. Is that the same thing?

your laptop spec will be fine mate, it won't effect quality, just how long it takes to convert to a final dvd, the tv tuners are different, although can be used in a similar way, but the the thing i use you'd be able to link it to your cable box too,

i do recoment a external hdd though mate, as you'll be using a lot of space on your hard drive, especially with the amount of games you'll be recording, maybe a 500gb or 1tb external would give you plenty of recording space

Ye Diego, I have 2 1TB HDD. 1 is full of football shit, my other one has 500GB gone with movies and footy.

But can I just leave the recordings in AVI files for example, or do I have to convert to DVD?

you can do either or both mate, but must record to dvd to be able to play on a standalone, you'll be able to convert your movies to dvd too mate should you wish
