Talks with Arsenal over Touré are well under way with City confident of concluding a £14 million deal this week

Wenger will know who but its important to have a good squad because a good starting 11 isnt enough nowadays.

Our squad was was actually a little too big, we have 6 CBs on the books at the moment, so we need to get rid of Kolo and Silvestre and get in a CM.

Also its important to have quality in numbers and not just players in to fill the gaps.

GK department is good enough

Defence- Gallas,Vermaelen,Song,Djourou,Silvestre

Now knowing Wenger he will sell Toure and Senderos but not Silvestre :tremble:
That defence isn't good enough imo

Midfield- Lacks depth in CM and need a proper DM player

Attack- Strong enough

We don't need a DM. A DM will kill our football unless Cesc is also replaced in CM with someone more robust.

Every successful team needs a top DM player just look at Real Madrid a few years back they had all the worlds greats playing some of the best football ever seen but they won nothing because they lacked balance and someone who can win them back possession.

Cesc's best form ever for Arsenal came in a box to box CM. Who was the DM for United in the 06-07 season? They had the best CM partnership in Europe that season.

DM is just some rubbish term.

But Man Utd were able to cope with it because they pressed teams and add to the fact that they have a world class defensive unit. Come the new year Gallas will be injured and we will be short of quality and numbers at CB just like last season and as far as im concerned this side needs at least 2 players just to stand a chance of competiting. It is clear to everyone there is a lack of depth and experience in the midfield.

Precisely. Utd didn't have an out and out DM that season but our defensive unit was light years ahead of Arsenals back 5. In addition to that despite Carrick not being a classic DM he has far more defensive nous than any midfield player currently at Arsenal. Even then though we had Fletcher to play the harrying role when needed, Arsenal don't have a quality player to carry that out presently. Add another CB and a DM and Arsenal are in business.

Tackles Per Game
Denilson: 3.6
Carrick: 2.7

Tackling%

Denilson: 77.3%
Carrick: 58.8%

Interceptions

Denilson: 155
Carrick: 53

Interceptions Per Game

Denilson: 4.3
Carrick: 2.1

These stats tell me that Denilson is not only better positionally than Carrick, he is also a superior tackler. Denilson lost out on several 50-50 challenges because he is still a little light weight, yet he still made more tackles than Carrick. Denilson's first season as first choice was very good, and he is only going to improve.
