Scholes underrates Rivaldo, he was a phenomenal player - the reason I supported Barca.
he had such fantastic ability, and scored important goals too, all sorts of goals, from 20 yard free kicks to overhead kicks, special player, pity he made a bad name for himself at the world cup though(when he went down holding his face at the corner)

Another poor comment, I rate him very highly, pure quality and the best in the world late nineties, but that doesn't make him better than Dinho and you know that.
Scholes

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

If you consider Ronaldinho to be on a different plane to Rivaldo then you are either underrating Rivaldo or overrating Ronaldinho. It's one of the two.

The latter was a terrific entertainer but the only reasons he's considered by some to be better than Rivaldo are 1) A lack of TV coverage for the latter, 2) Rivaldo didn't win as much because he didn't benefit from having the one of the world's best AMs and the world's best Striker in the same side as him.

He's not a different planet no, but he's definitely better. It was a bit harsh bracketing Rivaldo and Kaka like that because Rivaldo was better, but Dinho is king.

this is what makes football special, differing opinions, but at the end of the day, both were/are great players

Haha yeh, can't believe Elcule made that comparison when Ronaldinho was playing in an average looking side.

Elcule's posting away so let's hope he sends Ant into laughter, or better still, owns up to his fourth mistake of the evening.

Disagree; Eto'o was a mile better than Patrick. No debate. Deco at his peak was much closer to Figo than anyone will give him credit for, Figo had longetivity but Deco was a phenomenon between 04-06.

Overall, Ronaldinho played in a far, far, better side.

Ronaldinho played alongside Deco and Eto'o, everyone else was way below what you'd expect to see in a world beating side, that's a fact. At the end of the day, does it matter who they play with? Both Barca teams weren't filled with world class players and this probably suited both Rivaldo and Ronaldinho.

I'm prepared to fight this as far as it goes. I have DVD's for every Barca season between 97-2002 whereas you can base your opinions from judgements based from the ages of 8-13...

Sure Figo was a mile better over the course of his career, but in those two years Deco was on of the best players on the planet.
