Manchester City moved on from the disappointment of missing out on England captain John Terry by striking a £15million deal for Arsenal defender Kolo Toure.

The 28-year-old has agreed personal terms of around £120,000 per week — doubling his wages at Arsenal. He is expected to be unveiled later this week and could even figure in Saturday’s friendly at Barnsley.

 120k a week for Toure????? City have lost the plot

2 seasons ago I would have thought Wenger has gone mad in letting Toure go...but now I think it's good business. Looks like we are pumping that £15m straight back in for Hangelaand...hope so as he is the type of CB we need, with solid prem experience.

Our back 4 will shape up nicely with the options we would have then.

Fucking sick. What a waste of cash. So much good work in the transfer market this summer, then we go make ourselves look like mugs with a terrible defensive signing, and there will be more to come with Upson coming soon. FFS.

The disrespect to Kolo makes me sick. Sure he had a poor season for the most part, but he was a brilliant servant and brilliant player for the club. An invincible and a big part of the Champion's League record breaking defence. He'll be sorely missed and i wish him all the best at City if this is true.

CL record breaking defence? Elaborate.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

agreed

kolo toure had as bad a season last year as gallas, clichy, fabregas etc, but we dont have people calling for them to be sold

this will be a loss, and when he comes good for city and helps them push us out of the top 4 you wont be saying what a great sale it was

10 consecutive cleansheets in the CL in 05/06, partnered with Senderos.

It doesn't matter where I get my info  when I tell you something has happened my word you better believe it.

Kolo Toure is the last remaining regular member of the invinicbles :tremble: he was world class that season and was so different from all the other CB's we had over the years so yes I will miss him but we must always look forwards and never at the past.

I agree we need to look forward, but Kolo should be wished all the best and his efforts for us should always be held in high regard.
