Too right, I don't even think it's that close really. Both have different strengths but Bent is a much better goalscorer and that in itself means he's a better striker. Jones doesn't seem to strike up any chemistry with anyone. Maybe I don't watch him enough but he rarely seems on the same wavelength as who he plays alongside. But since he's great in the air and Bent if he signs is the runner well that's a start, maybe he can develop that part of his game then.

I think that Wigan could surprise a few people if Martinez gets them to click, as they've last their best players recently and other teams around them are adding quality to their squads- or are at least looking too!

Wigan are going down.
It could go wonderfully or terribly for them, only time will tell.

Yeah Martinez is a newcomer to PL management but unlike Ince the last rookie to have a go, Martinez seem a manager who has real ideas. He get's the team to play good football aswell, as he did with Swansea. So while Ince was pretty much destined to fail, Martinez has got a really good chance of doing something good. He won't be disposed of after a few games that's for sure. Ince never seemed comfortable in his position.

Scotland seems a decent player from what I've seen. Sure there's always doubts over Championship strikers but some of them really hit it off, in fact one of them is going to be your main goalscorer pretty soon. From the Championship strikers, I think Scotland and Doyle will do well this season.

Laugh all you want but it's just a pointer to what he wants to talk about at half-time lads...ie. don't be scared to have a pop.

As for Paul Ince, such a funny bloke. On MUTV they showed the 94/95 season and went into the dressing room/players' personal lives. Steve Bruce is a hero.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Just goes to show you how good and consistent Arsenal's defence was back then.

I think Pallister got a few games didn't he. Maybe the England manager(s) felt he was the better choice as he was a monster in the air but even still if you have a set of defenders who play so well alongside each other every week, then you have to play them for the national team.
