just an interesting thought

after over 20 years of being an arsenal fan, but over the past 12-18 months, ive found that ive become slightly disillusioned with the club, but more so football in general and as such im starting to lose interest in football

has anyone else ever had this feeling about their club or the game?

For me as an Arsenal fan it's more the feeling of frustration, rather than being disillusioned. It's has been quite clear where we have needed more depth, but last summer we just watched as rather than addressing it, Wenger took a gamble, which he later admitted backfired. I think with the Arshavin signing, he has learnt that we do need to sometimes shell out for experience, than gamble on young players still developing their game. You could see Arsenal were not going to bring home any silverware last season, and it was frustrating...this summer he has the MONEY and opportunity to change that.

On an overall level, Football is still the best sport on the planet for me, but the money aspect is spoiling it...purely from a point of view that players USED to wear their clubs shirt with pride, used to love the club, the fans, etc...yet nowadays some chop and change at the sniff of a bigger wage packet. The loyalty that makes previous generations of players, legends, well it's disappearing at an alarming rate.

I hope you find the spark in football again Sphinx.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

The last 3 seasons I tried so hard to defend Wenger and such, but now I just call it how I see it. But I have never lost interest at all.

You should try being a City fan Sphincter, I was still interested when we were midtable in Div 2, that's what football and supporting a club is all about...

its not so much arsenal that im bored with, id support them if we were in 3rd division or a european super league, but football doesnt seem to have the same appeal at the high level anymore, im actually considering going back to see stevenage regurlarly again
