After watching the previous two Real Madrid matches it is clear to me that Manuel Pellegrini wants to mould this side into a passing side who like to keep the ball and dictate the play just like he did at Villarreal. Thats great but he had time to build the side up at Villarreal but he wont have that luxury at Real Madrid especially now they have some of the worlds greats in what is now a new and exciting era for the club. Villarreal has a South American feel about the club and the side was mixed up with the Spanish stars and techincally gifted players from all over South America something Real Madrid dont really have particularly in the center. I was watching Ronaldo and it really occurred to me that he looks lost and out of position and one of the reasons for that is because Ronaldo likes to have space around him but he is not getting that at the moment. The passing game is something that is new to him because he played for a side who are masters of the counter attack especially away from home so this new style will take a bit of time for him to get used to. Kaka and co will be starting training tomorrow so I am intrigued to see what system he plays and how he manages to fit all these stars in the team. |

Did you write that? |

Thats not strictly true, because Utd have been both a passing and counter attacking side for the last 3 seasons. I do see your point though, namely that the speed that was in Utd's game is not currently in Real's team. |

Are you serious? Ronaldo, Kaka, Robben, Benzema is pacier than anything United offered over the last 3 seasons. |

I think he was talking about the speed of the football united played, not the pace of individual players |

excellent analysis, and its one of the reasons why some people are sceptical about having ronaldo and kaka in the team. but they are top class players and im sure they will adapt |

Real Madrid have plenty of quick players but they seem a bit static so it will be entertaining to see how they all blend together and play as a team.![]() There he is ![]()

Yes, they could very well play as quickly as Utd, IF they had a decent playmaker such as Alonso, Fabregas, Xavi etc . . . Sneijder is a very good player but as the fulcrum I don't think he has enough to optimise the speed of technique and body that Ronaldo, Kaka, Benzema and Robben offer. |

Fernando Gago is simply not good enough infact I dont rate him at all so they need Alonso badly if they are to have the right balance. |
