Becks open to United return

England ace admits he could be tempted back to Old Trafford

David Beckham has admitted that he would welcome the opportunity to re-join Manchester United in the New Year.

The England international is currently in America with Los Angeles Galaxy, but will head back to Europe once the MLS campaign comes to a close.

The experienced midfielder enjoyed a productive loan spell at Serie A giants AC Milan last season, as he looked to maintain his fitness levels, and a possible return to Italy has been widely touted.

However, Beckham has revealed that a move to England may not be out of the question.

Keen to retain a place in Fabio Capello's plans ahead of next summer's World Cup, the 34-year-old knows he must be playing regular football in order to be involved.

Best fans
Beckham insists he does not mind where he finds first-team football, accepting that he would have to consider a switch to the Premier League should the opportunity arise.

As a lifelong Manchester United fan he admits that his preferred option, should a move to England materialise, would be to head back to Old Trafford - where he left for Real Madrid in 2003.

"I'd love to go back to United because they are the team I support," Beckham said in the Daily Star.

"For me, they are the best fans in the world. They're the best club I've played for.

"Manchester United is always a team that any professional would want to play for."

Wow...The best club he's played for. He must have forgotten he's played for Real Madrid and AC Milan.

Its his opinion though and he's welcome to believe that Utd represents the peak of his playing career.

I'd welcome him.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Beckham always thinks the grass is greener on the other side, nice to see he's finally accepted he shouldn't have moved in the first place.

Winner.

tbf he was kinda forced out of united and left madrid because capello refused to play him

imo he's one of the most honest players in the game and has been pretty unlucky with his club and country

Yeah I'm not really sure about the 'Ins' and the 'Outs' of it, looking back it seems a ridiculous divorce.
