We aren't paying them 200k a week net, do you think torres and gerrard would play for you if you weren't paying them massive money? The fact is players will except lower wages for the chance to play for united or liverpool, for example berbatov could have earned more by going to man city but chose to join united instead

Why bring up Gerrard and Torres? I'm not the one trying to make out as if City are the only ever club to attract players using money.

Why bring rooney and rio into it then? Do you honestly think eto'o will join for anything other than the money? United don't attract players because of money they attract them because of the prestige of playing for the club and the chance to win major honours

Balls, sheer and utter balls. Money is every footballers priority, as soon as a player gets offered what he deems to be enough then he will take other factors into consideration.

When was this? :hysterics: Ferdinand is a pure winner and one of the most passionate players at the club, and he's never been club captain either :deepthought:

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

google it scholes i only know cause of my family who hated him for his demands....

but im not sayin people wont join City for money but i think football is mostly for money now a days cause u telling me if u didnt pay them they would still play for u? so its all money if u wanna get technical its just how much a team can offer a player which is upto the teams who are willing to do that

RIO FERDINAND is 'treading a fine line' with his massive wage demands, according to former United defender Gary Pallister.

The former United stopper believes that Ferdinand runs the risk of alienating supporters if he doesn't drop his pounds 120,000 a week wage demands and sign a new deal before the start of the season.

Pallister said: "I think Rio is treading a fine line at the moment and the fans are getting a bit upset. What's the difference between pounds 100k and pounds 120k a week?

"I don't think he really needs it festering into the start of the season."

Pallister admitted that the salary was obscene but insisted that it's not only the players who need to face up to the situation.

He said: "Football wages now have to be seen in perspective. The clubs are making that money; enough to pay players, so it's not just greedy players.

"The clubs are earning big bucks so it's right that players get a percentage, but sooner or later it will have to stop - it's getting out of control."

Errr, I don't remember a wage saga, big deal, you thought Ferdinand was club captain when he never has been. Which year was that?

What argument? It was Roonaldo's argument you plonker, but Rio's love for United is sky high, incredibly passionate and motivated.
