To be fair Gabby looked like he was gona be class cuz he was makin good decisions an was good in the air but suddenly he was doin shite in the air. Maybe it was fatigue an im doin too harsh. But right now IMO he isnt good enough. Defenders clued up to him an Young an he started to fail. To be fair I think Young can adapt an still be a class player cuz he currently has the best delivery in the league but with gabby im not so sure. He may have just hit the wall.

I thnk he's a smart lad, just too chilled out and timid for his own good. I think he's got a good enough technique, a good enough footballing brain and obviously good enough pace, but without confidence and conviction you don't succeed as a winger or a striker.
I am by no means saying he is perfect at everything but he is being ut down far too much in this thread imo. I do agree with some of the points and he really does need to improve his decision making but its not like he has been playing in the first team for a few seasons and hasn't improved. This is his first full season as a starter and has had injuries but has still improved.

I think you are being too harsh. He seems to have goo spells where he goes on a run of 8 games scoring 8 goals or something like that so his consistancy could be improved and it should do with age. As for Young he is quality and why on earth United haven't looked at him after selling Ronaldo is beyond me. He will get you assists and with a good finisher in your team he could get 20+ assists he got 18 in the league alone 2 seasons go.

Thats the thing. With Carew fit all season we would have score many many goals. But we need more from our other striker an Gabby needs to either start bein consistent or get another striker in

I agree you would but not only becuase Carew is a good striker but becuase Agbonlahor would have a top class striker partner which is what he needs. Played a lot of the season upfront alone didn't he? Tbf he worked so hard in every game.

Well Carew was out a long time an we played 451 to cope an Gabby had a really good spell. He was scorin headers an everythin. But when Carew came back we went to 442 an gabby just went shit again. An lets be honest if I was gona start Carew or Gabby then Carew gets the nod every time.

Ah ok, I thought it was when you went to 4-5-1 his dip in form started and then he was praised for his work rate even though he was going for a spell where he couldn't score. Goals return would be similar with Gabby most likely taking it imo but its more than that and Carew's overall play would get him the place and rightly so.

Overrated for me. I'm one of his biggest critics here to be honest, he will never be a world class anything, winger, striker whatever. He will fade into a still inconsistent player for a mid-table PL team once Arsenal finally realise he isn't going to amount to anything much. Lots of pace, no brains, brutal finisher.

I think he's been a victim of being in the spotlight too early, thrust into the WC squad at 17 and all the hype surrounding it, he has since got the usual young English player hype and it's to his detriment. People go on about his subluminal pace but really when he runs that fast, he hasn't got the ablity to do something with the ball, I suspect there are plenty of platers just as fast as him but they don't go full speed because they know they can't hold on the the ball and use it effectively, this doesn't seem to have dawned on young Theo yet, he just gets the ball and thinks "I know, I'll do my magic running trick" Well Theo, all party tricks get old and nobody's amused or excited by it anymore.

He will end up with well under half of the goals Michael Owen (the last pace merchant) accumulated and his career will tail off into mediocrity at around the same age. When he gets to his 'peak' everyone will look at him still inconsistently performing and realise he's been average the whole time.

If you think he is a natural finisher then football must have serious problems  :hysterics:
So his goals vs Villareal, Twente, and Chelsea aren't class finish? All three require lots of skill, and to be able to do that with LITTLE TRAININ on actual FINISHING is very good.
LMAO.

You watch him train do you?

He's been playing football for 15 years anyway, players don't need to practise finishing in training to be a good finisher.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Wright said they do little training on finishing, Wenger and Theo said this season they do no training for peno's so I assume they do very little of it.

Also, he only started playing at 12. Quit talking shit.

To quote DaGunners - ''What does Ronaldo off a team apart from goals''?

Ronaldo's footballing brain is pretty poor, Goonie is right.

I guessed at 5...that's when most normal people start playing, but 8 years is more than enough, as I said, same concept, quit talking shit.
