They're signing Ronaldo and he's more of a striker than Tevez will ever be. I'd be surprised if they went for him, they want a goalscorer and Carlos ain't that.

According to a report in the British tabloid The Sun, Manchester City have emerged as clear favourites to sign Carlos Tevez after he enrolled his child in a local school.

Apparently, his four-year-old daughter Florencia is due to begin her education at a private school in Cheshire this September, indicating that he will not be leaving the north-west during the summer.

Manchester United have already revealed that 'El Apache' will not remain at Old Trafford once his two-year loan spell expires at the end of June, while his representative Kia Joorabchian has previously stated that a move to Liverpool has been ruled out.

Therefore, Manchester City appear to be the only suitable candidates remaining who fulfil the criteria, with Chelsea seemingly out of the running.

Do you think Lescott is a top class CB? 'Cos my money is on us getting him.

Don't forget Maicon at RB too

Maicon, Lescott and Tevez will put City ahead of Everton and Villa. I'm not sure whether they'll catch Arsenal just yet.

I'm sorry but that is a world class team, better than Liverpool and Arsenal...

It's all about balance, structure and chemistry though. We'll have to wait and see how Hughes sets up and how the team play together on a personal level. Bridge, Lescott, De Jong, RSC and Barry are very good but don't come across as players who'd get in a world class side's starting XI. I think Hughes is doing this the right way, those players I mentioned will gurantee you a top 5/6 finish and a European slot again. The 10/11 season will be the year City attempt to break the top four, not that it's impossible to do so this year if Arsenal cock up.

But look at teams like Arsenal and Liverpool, how many world class players do they have? 2-3 at most, and then a solid first XI. And that's what we have there, a few world class players, strength all over the pitch and good squad dept. Of course this is all conjecture at the moment, but seriously, that team posted there is better than Liverpool's and Arsenal's on paper, but as you so rightly say it will all depend on how Hughes sets the team up and how well he disciplines the team. We're gonna need to have an amazing season to break to the top 4, but the moment we get that winning mentality into us, which could easily happen with our easy first 4-5 games, we could get the feel of winning and start playing with a lot of confidence and our usual attacking flair.

Sorry mate, but that team is not close to being better than us, especially up front.

RSC is a good signing but he's not a patch on Arsenal's forwards. Even Jones>RSC.

How the hell do you match up Eduardo and Robinho? Its Arshavin vs Robinho. Eduardo vs Tevez. And RVP vs RSQ. We win all of those match ups IMO.
