I'm bored shitless of Italian food too. Can't get away from it in the shitty weathered piss hole that is New England.
New England is fantastic
Yeah, 85 degrees and pissing it down with rain. Always nice to have to choose between getting piss wet through, or putting on a jacket and proceding to sweat like a gimp in a sauna. :greatpost:
the weather changes so fast in new england though. personally i love it here lol.

and you cant blame new england for global warming screwing up the weather, its never usually this rainy now.

I'm still happy Italy lost because they're nobs, but I'd rather have played them in the final.

Nazi's :hysterics:

Ant and Dag were convinced but Germany's defence, especially Neuer in goal proved far more resilient.

Yeah as I've said so many times, the German's are always so well drilled, disciplined and clever in defence. I can admit I was wrong, on the balance of the whole game Italy were so much better but credit to the Germans, brilliant defensive display in the 2nd half and a first half Neuer will never forget. The new Khan has made his mark on world football...

Italy were clueless in the final third, both teams were really. Aquafresca was ineffective and Gio was marked out of the game by a well disciplined German midfield/defence, as you said. Germany only had a couple of chances but Beck took his goal well, their progression wasn't that undeserved imo.

As of this moment in time, who do you think should be given 'player of the tournament'? The best player usually gets awarded to the tournament winners, but should England win it I don't think there are any real candidates. Could you give it to Giovinco despite his team not being in the finals? I said Ozil before the tournament started, and if Germany win the final and he plays well I think it'll almost certainly go to him.

Thoughts?

Italy weren't clueless first half at all, and Gio couldn't be stopped, they even tried doubling up on him but he still wriggled away. On the 2nd half it was pretty even, but Germany didn't create a chance, one goal from a great strike, but they never even looked slightly dangerous.

Marcus Berg will be a contender, he's the top scorer and plays for the hosts Sweden.

Gio was energetic and his touch was sublime but he went missing towards the end. They did indeed double up on him and it worked.

But Sweden didn't get to the final, if they did he and Toivonen would be dead certs, but can you really award it to somebody who couldn't even get their team into the finals?

An individual isn't really expected to carry his team to the final. If one player has 'carried' their team throughout the tournament, it's Burg.
