Napoli are starting to get fed up with striker Ezequiel Lavezzi's behaviour. The Argentinean and his agent Alejandro Mazzoni are continuing to demand salary increases, which has led president Aurelio De Laurentiis to take a tough stance against the player.

"Lavezzi can't say anything, and neither can his representatives," he said to ANSA.it. "Someone who signs a contract for an established amount of time and money, which was then substantially improved six-seven months later, can't really ask for more.

"I am surprised by the immaturity of these professionals. You can't base everything on money, I also told Pierpaolo [Marino]: 'Don't tell me football is like that, because I'll get mad'. He should at least have tried to earn a raise with his performances on the pitch."

De Laurentiis then made an extraordinary comment, as he accused Lavezzi of regularly drinking alcohol, clubbing, and visiting prostitutes,

"Let one thing be clear: if you're a professional, you should always be a professional," the movie-chief stated.

"If you're an athlete, you don't go out drinking or go to prostitutes. When you play, you defend a city's colors, and if at night you go out drinking and visiting prostitutes, you are betraying the city's people.

"That said, these are young people, and as such they need a staff capable of teaching them how to behave."

The Napoli president is ready to take extreme measures with Lavezzi.

"Teams need to have an ethical code: if Lavezzi goes on like this, he will spend two years outside the squad, until his contract expires," he continued, "he won't play and that would ruin his career. I have never had an official offer for him from other clubs.

"If one should come, then certainly we could take about it, because everything has a price. However, if I have to make it a question of ethics, I would be capable of turning down even €25 million."

De Laurentiis is well know for his bizarre statements to the press, and many will record when he accused English women of failing to wash themselves adequately in their nether regions.

Just noticed Phil, Liverpool love giving attention to small Argentinian support strikers! Zarate next I'm thinking.
