When he first joined the club I thought he looks like a real good talent but since then he has not really impressed me at all and to be honest he is looking like a real flop at the minute. I get the impression Fergie doesn't really have much trust in him so if you are putting your hopes on Nani to replace Ronaldo then well thats what you call desperation.

Henry was past his best when he left us though and dont forget he had been injured for most of his last season.

Who said anything about replacing Ronaldo? :deepthought: I was thinking of Nani coming into his own on the left flak...it's plain stupidity on anyone's part to think Ronaldo can be directly replaced...We need to eliminate the weak aspects in our game and that includes the "bottler" Carrick...Hargreaves come back!

no-one can doubt that nani has alot more potential than he is showing so my claim isnt that outlandish

plus were arsenal desperate when they replaced viera with a 17 yr old spanish kid, were arsenal desperate when they turned to adebayor to fill henry's boots?

Adebayor was boderline world class in 07/08 but at end of the day he is a one season wonder

Fabregas is a top player though thats why all of the top clubs wanted to sign him at 15 and to compare Nani to Fabregas is a some sort of sick joke. I remember saying a couple of months ago that Nani will never be a top player and Ronaldo's mentality is so much greater than Nani's it is unreal.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Nani has two good feet but never will he be anywhere near Ronaldo. He's not mentally or physically strong enough and would go missing in games.

wow

ok firstly you missed my point completely. replacing world class talent with relative unknowns (as is the case with nani-ronaldo) isnt a sign of desperation as you claim.

secondly i didnt even compare nani with fabregas, the only thing they now have in common is that they are/were asked to replace important players.

also i agreed that nani doesnt have the mentality to be a top player BUT he has raw talent and with maturity hopfully he could turn that into ability.

yes

right now he has raw talent but a poor mentality that will never see him become a great player BUT through training and maturity HOPEFULLY he will change his mentality alowing him to turn that raw talent into ability

all im saying is that nani could be the player to replace ronaldo
