DAVID BECKHAM has put the Premier League on red alert by admitting he could be back to play in England next season.

Beckham says he is returning to Europe at the end of the year.

And the midfield superstar revealed he has already discussed his next move with England boss Fabio Capello.

Becks, 34, is due to return to LA Galaxy next month after completing a six-month loan spell with AC Milan.

But he said: "I will definitely be coming back to Europe in December because of the World Cup.

"Nothing has been finalised yet but Mr Capello has always said to me 'Wherever you go, play at the highest level'.

"I will be playing 10 or 11 games for the Galaxy so I don't think he will be worried about a lack of competitive football.

"He will be more concerned about where I will be going in December, though.

"AC Milan are one of the clubs who have shown an interest but there are a number of top leagues in Europe, including England.

"So we'll just have to see what happens."

Beckham's comments are sure to start a mass scramble.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has already expressed an interest in a six-month loan deal.

And Becks could follow his former Milan chief Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea.

Beckham, who still has three years of his Galaxy contract to run, has already missed the first three months of the MLS season and his absence has angered many American supporters.

He said: "People have spoken about a possible adverse reaction. But it's not as though I've never had abuse from fans before."

As long as he stays away from City I'll be happy to see him back in the PL...

sheep that...imagine him coming back to the real "home"...the Theatre of Dreams. Anyway, I've thought he's said many times that he'll never return to England unless it's Man.Utd although I don't fault him because he is a true legend of English football trying to keep his international career alive.

Forget about all these fancy names and big fees for a moment, Beckham and RVN coming back to the PL would be better than anything.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

 RVN and Beckham back to the PL would be a dream...standing ovation from OT for the two United legends

Trez, Pato, Pirlo and the names United, City and Chelsea are linked to would be cum-tastic

La Liga with Kaka and Ronaldo? Pfftt...nothing compared to the legends in the EPL.

Sir Alex Ferguson is targeting United legend David Beckham as a short term replacement for wing wizard Cristiano Ronaldo.

Short-term replacement? He's not a replacement of any kind, he'd start on the bench, but I'd love it if he rejoined us...I'd be ecstatic actually.
