Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Shevchenko's record is sensational, RVN has been a bit unlucky with lack of success in knock-out rounds for United and Madrid.

Lampard's is the most impressive there btw.

Could you post up how many games they have played aswell, so we can see who has the best goal to game ratio?

Success is winning championships. It is nothing less than that. And when you win a championship - and we will - success isn't measured or accomplished by winning once.

Don't have appearances, but most of Gerrard's CL goals have been in the group stage, only 4 of Lampard's 17 have come in the group stage.

@ Rollingstone, Lampard is a midfielder

That's irrelevant Scholes: goalscoring stats aren't about where you play.

But, it does show that Lampard was probably the most valuable player in that list as he scored lots whilst dictating the game as a midfielder.

Scoring goals from midfield is more impressive than scoring them as a striker, fact. Anyway, let's not dominate this thread with SFL talk, Henry's record is fairly good.

If a striker scores 10 goals and a defender scores 8, the striker's goalscoring stat is still more impressive...But I see what you're saying.

Inzaghi = Legend. Tell you what though, the stat of Ronaldo is truely impressive considering the age of those above him in that list - they've all got at least 5 years on him...WOW!

So a striker scoring 10 goals impresses you more than a defender scoring 8?

...And to think it was only the quarter final drubbing of Roma in 2007 where he scored his very first CL goal! He has since turned into a lethal figure in the competition, his tally is also aided by us reaching the semi's and then two finals. As Scholes said, RvN has been unlucky with crashing out at an early stage because if he was reaching semi-finals nearly every year, I have no doubt he would be in the top 2 or 3 of that list.
