City are a club that could be pushing for trophies and CL football within 2 years, Villa are on their way down and will end up a midtable club next season. He will be playing with players like Tevez and Robinho, players with real class and stature, and this move is his one chance to make something of himself before he retires. Staying at Villa and being a 'loyal' bloke would only be bad from his career from now on.

Just remember that I boldly predicted we'd finish 20 points ahead of them...

Villa are from declining, the only team that gave a real push to the top 4 this season. it's important they keep Young, Agbonlahor, Milner and Davies. O'Neill will have money to spend anyway

Barry can be replaced, never even thought he was their best player when he was there, just another English player with an inflated price tag. Petrov is far better IMO

Nah Villa showed their true colours in the 2nd half of the season, 2 wins from 25 I think it was. The season before City were in the top 4 for half of the season, and the fell in exactly the same way, but nobody spoke of City in the same manner.

If any club stops us getting 5th or higher it'll be Everton, Villa will be midtable next season...

i'm not convinced

perosnally i think Hughes is a rubbish manager first of all, i don't think he has the quality of getting a team in the champions league even with all that money

villa faded because of the lack in depth they had, they need a centre half, centre mid and a wide player and they'll be fine i recon.

still not convinced by the "project"

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I remember hearing Villa had won something like 2 of their last 25 games, not sure if it's true, but it won't be far off even if it's not.

Use your noggin mate...they probably won more than 15 games this season so that automatically rules it out. They were flying high until February, which by the way is not comparable to 9th place City the previous season.
