I've heard good thing about that Hamsik fellla he's looked quite dynamic to me when I've seen him play and he gets a few goals.

Ideal situation for me is Ribery, Hamsik and maybe Huntelaar or if there's another real goalscoring striker out there, then him. I would be ecstatic, in fact that would be a huge understatement, I would be lost for words.

Everyone has forgotten something here...that Man Utd needed at least some of that £80m to pay off some of the capital off from their loans, as right now they are paying off the interest only. So don't assume automatically that United have £80m to spend, as they don't.

Saying that I'm sure Ribery will come.
the club makes too much money a year (i think they're the most profiting club in the world at the moment as well) to worry about that debt

the club has a bigger fanbase than most countries have citizens.

i've just got back from the america's and the United brand is everywhere. They're as big as the Yankies if not bigger.
They did indeed register a larger profit than any other club, but take a look through the BBC financial section and you will see their debt is increasing and that profit is in the main ploughed back into paying off the interest repayments on what was $900m...and with the pound having taken a battering, it's hit everyone hard.

The Glazers have been looking to tighten their spending somewhat. And as for SS saying Fergie has the whole lot, I'm sure the Man Utd accountants aren't aware of that statement.

I'm not sure how many of you look at the financial side of things, however, the pound has lost almost a 3rd of it's value over the last 9 months, hitting businesses (including football clubs) hard. Lenders are more reluctant to re-finance, the pound has lost it's strength against the Euro AND dollar. In actual fact it means that clubs like Barca and Real Madrid are better off buying from England right now, based on the strength of the Euro.

I know it's all adult stuff, but football after all is a business, and right now unless you have rich owners, clubs are more cautious in the Premiership as to how much they spend.

True, anything over €150 I buy from somewhere in England, great value for money!

they're a club that will always have money, the biggest club in the country and arguably the world.

if things got that bad i'm sure some oil tycoon would quite happily come in and get involved in the football monopoly

i won't get in to the financial argument with football because i'm not a financial times person or an ecomonist but the debt they have must be under control or they wouldn't of spent silly amounts of money on players over the past few years

MANYOU is showing real passion.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

if ronaldo wants to be unloyal he can sheep off (the onle bad thing about him leaving is that i've a united jersey with his name on the back).but i have to thank him for the service that he has given the club

anyway, one player does not make a team.we relied too much on ronaldo and i'm sure that the squad will make the step up.spend the money on an out an out striker and a player to replace ronaldo (ribery) and we'll be sorted.any money thats left over can improve the cm.

I LOVE FRANCK RIBERY AS A FOOTBALLER, HE's AN UGLY FUCKER BUT MY WORD HE MAKES UP FOR IT IN TALENT AND INTELLIGENCE AND SKILL AND HE'S A REAL WARRIOR WITH SUPREME ABILITY!

IF we sign him, you will all get a Homer-esque rant of joy from me.

It's not unloyal to move to a bigger club, CR7 is extremely ambitious and determined to play for the best, and this is why he is moving to Real Madrid, so he can now become a footballing legend.

CR7 can now reach the heights of Figo...

Ribery is the perfect winger and what makes him so incredible is his work rate and willingness to track back and get stuck in. He is the kind of player Fergie will love, and he has everything Ronaldo didn't.

If he does go to United, which I suspect he will, I will be very disappointed, 'cos it means I'll have to start hating one of my favourite players...

He has everything a winger needs and as you say his work-rate is very high aswell, he's afraid of nothing and I think he's a very intelligent lad too, it's not very often you that sort of warrior like player have a great footballing brain. Whoever he plays for, the fans will fall in love with him.

i read this on SS, its from Tony Gale:

Quote:

I don't think it's good business. If you're going to let someone go - and it must have come as a bit of a surprise to Sir Alex - you normally get someone in beforehand. What they're effectively doing is letting every club in the world know they've got £80million sitting in the bank, so the price of (Antonio)Valencia or (Franck) Ribery or whoever they decide to replace him with has automatically gone up. It's not United business and I don't think Sir Alex will be pleased with this one bit.

:brush: :brush: YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS CRISTIANO RONALDO IS ON HIS WAY TO REALLLLLL MADRID FOR A WORLD RECORD 80M :wipeee: :wipeee: :wipeee: :wipeee: :wipeee: IT WAS JUST 6 MONTHS AGO ALEX FERGUSON SAID HE WOULD NOT SELL THEM MOB A VIRUS :hysterics: NOW THEY ARE SELLING THEM THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD(ALONG WITH MESSI) FOR THE BIGGEST FEE EVER IN THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL INFACT IT SMASHES THE BIGGEST FEE EVER PAID BY A SUPER DUPER 20M WHICH IS JUST INCREDIBLE BUT THEN AGAIN REAL MADRID ARE AN INCREDIBLE CLUB AND THIS SI WHY THEY ARE THE BIGGEST CLUB IN THE WORLD. THEY HAVE SIGNED KAKA FOR 60M AND NOW THEY ARE ON THE VERGE OF SIGNING RONALDO FOR 80M WHICH IS 140M FOR TWO PLAYERS AND WHATS MORE AMAZING IS THAT THIS IS ONLY JUST THE START OF THINGS TO COME BECAUSE THEY WILL ALSO SIGN RIBERY VILLA SILVA AND ALONSO AMONG OTHERS :) ITS MINDBLOWING JUST THINKING ABOUT IT AND ITS PRETTY SURREAL TO BE HONEST I CANT BELIEVE HOW QUICK THIS IS ALL HAPPENING. IF ANYONE DOUBTED REAL MADRID ARE THE BIGGEST AND BEST BRAND NAME IN THE WORLD THEN THEY WONT BE ANYMORE BECAUSE THEY ARE SHOWING HUGE INTENT HERE AND ITS NOT LIKE THEY ARE OWNED BY BILLIONAIRE ARABS THEY ARE BUYING ALL THESE PLAYERS OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS.

NOW LETS TALK ABOUT MAN UTD  FOR THEM TO BE SELLING THEIR GREATEST ASSET TO REAL MADRID SHOWS A SHIFT IN POWER HAS OCCURED AND IM SORRY TO SAY THIS MAN UTD FANS(WELL IM NOT BUT I UNDERSTAND YOUR DISAPOINTMENT) BUT WITHOUT TEVEZ AND RONALDO= NO TROPHIES AND IM NOT TAKIKNG THE PISS HERE BUT IM BEING SINCERELY HONEST HERE BECAUSE YOU CANNOT LOSE YOUR TWO BEST ATTACKERS AND THEN EXPECT TO BE OK BECAUSE IT JUST DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT AND EVEN WITH THOSE 2 YOU ONLY JUST WON THE LEAGUE SO WITHOUT THEM YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAND THE PREMIERLEAGUE TITLE TO RAFA NOW. :happyhappy: EVERYONE KEEPS SYAING 80M IS A GREAT DEAL FOR RONALDO BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU ARE LOSING YOUR MOST IMPORTANT PLAYER AND YOU LOSE MILLIONS I REPEAT MILLIONS IN COMMERCIAL AND SHIRT SALES SO IS IT REALLY THAT GOOD DEAL? NO IS THE ANSWER AND WHAT IT ALSO MEANS IS YOU WILL NEED TO SPEND MONEY JUST TO TRY AND REPLACE HIM BUT WHOEVER YOU BRING IN WONT HAVE THE SAME EFFECT RONALDO HAD BECAUSE THIS KID GUARANTEES YOU AT LEAST 20 LEAGUE GOALS A SEASON AND HE IS THE ONE PLAYER WHO CAN PRODUCE SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING. NOW I HAVEN'T READ WHAT EVERYONE HAS SAID YET BUT I BET YOU MANYOU HAS COME OUT AND SAID THIS WILL ONLY MAKE MAN UTD STRONGER AND THAT RIBERY WILL BE TARGET.....AM I RIGHT? THING IS RIBERY WILL COST YOU AT LEAST 45M AND YOU WILL FACE COMPETITION FROM THE WORLDS BIGGEST TEAMS AND LIKE I SAID THE OTHER DAY HE IS NOT INTERESTED IN MOVING TO ENGLAND BECAUSE HE CANT STAND THE WEATHER SO YOU JUST HAVE TO ACCEPT YOU WONT BE GETTING HIM. "SITS BACK AND LAUGHS AT MAN UTD "

VALENCIA WILL BE THE ONLY PLAYER YOU WILL BRING IN THIS SUMMER AND I BELIEVE THIS COULD BE THE TURNING POINT IN UNITEDS FORTUNES BECAUSE FROM NOW ON THEY WILL FIND LIFE VERY DIFFICULT AND ONCE FERGIE GOES YOU COULD BE COMPETITING WITH CITY TO MAKE THE TOP 4 :binl:    SO ITS TIME TO SAY BYE BYE TO RONALDO AKA PRETTY BOY WHO LIKES SUNNY SPAIN AND LIKES PRETTY WOMAN.

BYE BYE MAN UTD......I MEAN RONALDO

  :cheeeer: :cheeeer: :cheeeer: :cheeeer: :cheeeer: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: FOOTBALL I FUCKING LOVE IT

Henry said that so us Arsenal fans...1 week before he left.

It's not nice, but loyalty is rare these days I'm afraid fella...sad but true.
