I would still try and keep Berbatov as the second striker because he hs a better touch and doesn't lose the ball when he's crowded around. Rooney also seems to be more able to sniff out chances as proved by his runs to score both his goals tonight, if we had an out and out striker, we would have the option to alternate between Berbatov and Rooney as the 2nd striker, if not I think Berbatov just shades it but Rooney is the better goalscorer. It would be nice if we signed a real goal poacher and then we would have more options up front I have to say.
Exactly. It's all well and good wanking over his performances against Andorra and Kazakstan, but he has weaknesses. He is not good in tight areas and only really operates in space. He is able to play the main striker's role because he has good finishing ability and can poach goals.
It's not his two most recent performances, its his form over the last 6 games or so. Berbatov does have a better touch and that is what makes him suited to being a target man, rather than a second striker. Rooney often ends up furtherest fowards but he starts from behind the striker.

Berbatov does like to come short and get the ball played to feet maybe he should try and play a bit higher up but he's not all that great in the air, we need a runner, someone who can make good runs in behind the defence because neither Berbatov or Rooney seem to be good at it. I'd love to see us snap up Higuain or something, if we didn't get Benzema.

Higuain would be a good call, but I can't see Real Madrid selling him to us.

The hope I have is that he's not big enough a name for them. He seems like the sort of player who will never be a true starter like Guti, we sold them RvN, Beckham and Heinze and they want to build up the relations between the two clubs, well Mr. Perez, Higuain would be a start!

Higuain is very similar to Rooney in that he often drops pretty deep, he wouldn't be ideal imo.

Winner.

Rooney just looks unstoppable for England and potentially a rival for best player in the world. Fergie is wasting him, because playing like this (liberated) could make him a more valuble player than Ronaldo.
Fergie is killing Rooney by having the mentally weak tw@t in the team
Change the fucking record would ya?
It's just facts

1. How do you know Berbatov is mentally weak? A. You don't
2. So Fergie is killing Rooney, how is it that he's just had his best ever season?

They are anything but facts, they are assumptions and wrong ones at that.

Yeah you're probably right, wonder how he'll do this season with Kaka in the team, maybe he won't drop deep so much. I do like him though because he scores different types of goals, good finisher, decent enough in the air and he has a bit of pace. Maybe we could get him next season if he turns out to be a more out and out type of striker!

They should be prioritising Villa imo, depending on the formation, see if they can end up with a formation of either:

............Diarra ... Diarra

Robben ...... Kaka ...... Higuain

................ Villa .................

OR

.......Diarra .... Alonso .... Diarra

...................... Kaka

..............Villa ......... Higuain

The first lacks a playmaker, the latter lacks width, but i think Higuain should now be considered important enough to start, whatever formation Madrid play.

1. His penalty against Everton, and after that his comments about how he's nervous and all this buullshit

2. Fergie is not killing Rooney when he constantly playing him out of position :deepthought:

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Oh give up with that penalty miss, so what he missed a pen, everyone has, fair enough it was a bad one but just that doesn't mean he's mentally weak and wow he feels nervous before a game, look lots of players feel nervous before games I'm sure they might not say it in the media but they are.

Is this the same Rooney who has been a bit of a revelation on the left-wing this season.

My word, you really put up a poor argument if I've ever seen one.

It takes two to tango, but one to provoke.
