ManYou only listens to his own views and dismisses everyone who likes Tevez more despite lacking the same quality Berbatov has.
What are you talking about, I'm not dismissive of people's views whatsoever, I like to debate and I take in all opinions but I don't have to agree with them!

I have my beliefs on the game and I trust my own judgement a lot because I'm right about players an awful lot of the time, I have seen players come and go and I know the ones with quality. I think Berbatov is a better footballer hands down, I don't dismiss Moe when he says he likes Tevez more because he puts his points across very well indeed, but if someone tells me Tevez is better player because of a higher work-rate etc. well I find it hard to take that seriously. Quality is what decides football games, work-rate is good yes but it means nothing if you close down a player, get the ball and not use it intelligently, showing quality. Tevez is very hit and miss with the ball at his feet and in at least half of the games he starts in, he is anonymous and most people can see this very obvious feature of his game.

Not sure exactly what you meant by that comment but are you saying I dismiss everyone because Tevez doesn't have the same qualites as Berbatov, well how is that any different to you saying Berbatov is not your favourite because he doesn't work hard enough like Tevez does! Sounds a bit hypocritical to me.

When Tevez was playing his football in Argentina and Brazil he was one of the most skillful players in South America but for some reason he gained alot of body fat and lost some of his dymanic play he used to have. I hate it when people say Tevez is a headless chicken because that is way of the mark and every run he makes is always for a good purpose and I remember saying last year that had it not been for Tevez you would never had won the premierleague and cl without Tevez. In the end you won the league by 2pts that season but he earned you countless points and almost every goal he scored was a hugely important goal which were always scored at important times. I remember the game against Barcelona at OT and he really was outstanding that night he never gave the defence and midfield of Barca's a second to think and if I remember rightly he covered more distance than anyone in the United side. Tevez is an under-rated player who is mostly recognized for his work rate and his passion but there is more to him then just hard work. He has great professionalism people dont give him enough credit for his intelligence and the skills he produces and dont give me rubbish on how he has no skills because if you honestly think that then you dont know him well enough. Just because his game is not based on skills and technique doesn't mean he dont have any because he certainly does.Tevez is a great example of how the game should be played he puts his heart and soul into fighting for the cause. His passing ability and vision is as good as Berbatov he works hard to close space when the opposition have the ball and he can tackle. He is not a prolific striker but he never really has been so you just have to accept him for the legend he is.

He has won South American football of the year more times then Maradona...........enough said.

Yeah he did score plenty of important goals that season but Dimitar has done the same this season, the points he won by scoring the winner were effectively what won us the PL. He played a vital role just as Tevez did the season before albeit in a different way.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on Tevez having as good passing and vision as Berbatov, I think Berbatov comes out on top here. I also wouldn't consider him to be particularly intelligent, players who run around that much, with that intensity and not looking up for options are generally not intelligent players, they don't do a lot of thinking because they operate at such a speed that there's little time for thinking, just acting on instinct etc..

It just comes down to what type of players we like, you obviously like someone who gives his all and shows a big heart and appetite for the game but I like entertaining players, highly skilled players who make this simple and beautiful game look just that. I don't find hard working players entertaining although their tenacity is admirable, every team needs a blend of both types but it's skillful players who make it so interesting to watch. Berbatov does things on the ball that I will be talking about after the game and after many years I will still fondly remember it, like the skill that's been in my sig all season, the times where Tevez chases down an opponent and works hard don't do it for me in the same way, lots of players chase and close down opponents but it's hardly a highlight.

I'm happy enough with Park and Fletcher chasing and closing down in the centre of the park or wings where it's a more important job but up front is where I like to see skill, supreme ability and flair, moments that bring me joy and remind me why I love this game so much, and I look to players like Berbatov, Ronaldo and Scholes for these.

Agree to disagree

I am also like yourself and love the beauty of the beautiful game thats why I love watching Barcelona and Spain in particular because they play such wonderful possession football and it really is a joy to watch. I do however love players with a big heart and players who always give their all in each and every single match so love him or hate him I want you to appreciate the efforts that Carlos Tevez has given Man Utd and to respect him as a player despite not having the elegance or the skill certain players have.

Yeah I can acknowledge what he has done but I just think Berbatov is unfairly judged because he doesn't run around like Tevez despite making a good contribution to our season. If I was given the choice it'd be Berbatov no problem but it just irritates me how he is getting treated for having his own style and way of doing things. Tevez' name pops up all the time when people judge Berbatov, you could mention everything that Dimitar has actually done but the response is always something about him being lazy and then about how much Tevez runs around working hard but Berbatov brings his own qualities to the table, comparing him with a very different player in Tevez just doesn't make sense and it's harsh. If we didn't have Rooney maybe I'd want him in the team but we do and Rooney bring the guts and Berbatov the elegance and I like that combination.
