Manchester City boss Mark Hughes has confirmed his interest in signing Carlos Tevez.

Tevez's future has been the subject of constant speculation with his two-year loan deal at Manchester United expiring at the end of the campaign.

United have first refusal on signing Tevez, but they are thought to be reluctant to pay the price-tag on the Argentine's head.

Widespread reports suggest City are ready to meet the asking price for Tevez as they look to build on their signing of Gareth Barry.

Hughes admits he would be interested in signing Tevez if he becomes available.

"Carlos Tevez is a good player. If good players become available then obviously every manager is interested," Hughes told Sky Sports News.

Utd are a poor man's City, so what does that make Arsenal a poor mans Spurs? Because like Spurs all that City have over us is money and as evidenced by Berbatov's signing money is not an issue when it comes to signing the right player for Fergie.

Tevez>Rooney, no chance.

Rooney is a better creator, better finisher, more flexible, more versitile has an equally high work rate and is younger, oh and Rooney's international record is streets ahead. Tevez is nothing on Rooney.

Tevez can sheep off and he can sheep off quickly for all I care. I'd rather it wasn't to Man City because he'd probably do well for a lesser club, but he's certainly not United first X1 quality.

Rooney is 10x the player Tevez is. People say they are similar but how? One is a tenacious, gritty, brave fox in the box type of player, the other is a skilful, creative hub with great vision.

The transfer market is out of control though, it saddens me to think what state football will be in in 10 years. As for Homer...City got handed money on a plate, big deal, you'll be making threads on here in 5 years time abusing them for challenging Arsenal :D

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I will never say a bad word about City regardless of what they do and dont do. They are entertaining in the media and on the pitch so I will never moan at them.
