Though not guranteed, Boro are on the verge of Championship football. Such a poor club deserve relegation and hopefully they'll keep more deserving sides up, Newcastle and Sunderland for example.

Greater news would be Hull and Stoke to join them.

I'm glad for Sunderland though, should guarentee safety with a win against a shit Portsmouth side with nothing to play for on Monday.

Pride of the North East

Winner.

Stoke should not be in the PL. They are a small club, play terrible football and i hate the manager.

Stoke deserve immense credit for breezing into midtable...

I wanted them and Pompey to go down as the latter is a nothing team nowadays IMO....Show some respect to Boro though please. Sunderland are a yo-yo team and Boro are an established PL side.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Boro are shite scholes, theyve done sheep all ever since they formed, they dont deserve epl football, and tbh neither do we after this seasons performance but we are a damn sight bigger and better than them.

Oh and as for "shit portsmouth side":

Portsmouth boss Paul Hart may let the weekend's results guide his selection plans for Monday's Barclays Premier League clash with Sunderland at Fratton Park.

Hart could rest some senior men if defeats for Hull and Newcastle guarantee Portsmouth's top-flight safety.

Defender Younes Kaboul was substituted in last Saturday's defeat at Blackburn after missing three games with a thigh injury, while striker Peter Crouch has started all 46 games this season and could benefit from a rest - or at least a front-line partner in veteran Kanu.

Noe Pamarot is available again after suspension while on-loan Armand Traore has recovered from a groin problem and could make his first appearance since Hart took charge in February.

Provisional squad: James, Johnson, Kaboul, Campbell, Distin, Hreidarsson, Pennant, Mullins, Hughes, Nugent, Crouch, Utaka, Basinas, Pamarot, Belhadj, Kanu, Traore, Cranie, Primus, Begovic, Ashdown.

Gets better for us.

Boro have reached the UEFA Cup final, beaten big PL clubs home and away, and won the Carling Cup. Just because you don't like them it doesn't mean they haven't been a good side in the last decade.

Boro sold all their good players and traded them with young inexperienced rookies who are just simply not good enough. They deserve to go down for making too many changes.

Won the Carling Cup in their 130 year history (its about that long).

Your failing to see the bigger picture, yeah they have been decent in the last decade but still done sheep all apart from winning a shitty cup.

You need to look at it objectively. If Sunderland win the League Cup next season you won't be calling it shitty. Boro have been a much better side than Sunderland in the last 10 years and have achieved well over this period of time. They may not be as big as you but their recent success is much more commendable.

What an average Premiership team, thats all they can boast for there history? :greatpost:

Yeah we havent been great recently, but finished 7th twice...

If we won the Carling Cup, id be happy, yeah, but its still the least important cup of them all.
