MARK Hughes claims he has not been given enough credit for his first season in charge of Manchester City.

City go to Tottenham tomorrow still in with a chance of finishing in the club’s highest Premier League position of seventh and having reached the UEFA Cup quarter-finals.

Hughes, above, believes he has changed the mentality at the club and his squad is stronger, fitter and, with one or two additions this summer, will be better equipped to mount a sustained challenge to the top four next season.

But he is irritated that managers of the teams around City in the table – Roy Hodgson, Harry Redknapp and Gianfranco Zola – appear to get more praise than he does.

Asked about Redknapp’s transformation of Spurs fortunes, he said: “Harry’s done a good job, similar to the one I’ve done myself but he gets a bit more credit than I do.

“He came in at a difficult time, looked at the squad and felt he had to make a few changes. He spent quite a lot of money in January, as I did – in fact, he spent a bit more. But he’s turned the club around, he’s got them working hard and winning again.

“If you look at the other managers around me in the league, a lot of plaudits are given to them and I don’t get many. But that’s understandable.”

Too true. We dominated United and not a good word was said about us or his tactics. Poor defence let us down, Hughes did enough to win that game for us.

LMAO. Redknapp gets more Credit because he has completely turned our season around from 20th to the possibility of 7th, of course he deserves more credit.

He is talking about just a bit of credit for himself.

Maybe he does deserve more credit. City have been brilliant going forward because they have the players. But defensively they need a massive improvement. A completely new back 4 even. But I think if City bring in a top notch RCB it will bring out the best in Richards because he can go forward like we've seen him do before without the worry of rushing back in defence everytime.

Corluka made a huge mistake leaving Man City just as they are about to take off.
