Say Andy Gray decided to retire from commentary at the end of this season, I would love it if Ray Hudson came and replaced him as Sky Sports' main analyst. He has a superb knowledge, his metaphors and similes are out of this world, and he'd liven up the Sky Sports commentary team for sure.

Would you be happy to see Hudson take Gray's place?

I'd like to have my cake and eat it; i don't want Gray to go, but yeah, i'd definitely love to have Hudson.

I voted yes on the premise that if Gray retires, Hudson would by my man to take over from him.

Winner.

Firstly, he'd be about 749th in the pecking order when Gray retires.

Secondly, thank God. I take my football seriously and would rather this joker took his analogies elsewhere...darts perhaps.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I'd stop watching Sky if they hired him. Dead serious.

Why?
He can be funny but I find him pretty irritating from the clips I've seen. I couldn't watch a whole game with him on commentary, never have and never will. Each to their own I suppose, he seems like a real love him or hate him sort of character.

He isn't always so hyperactive and 'annoying', his knowledge is top class and he absolutely loves the game. I think he'd grow on you as he talks a lot of sense.

Yeah suppose I'd have to listen to a full game as the clips are just his more excitable moments. He doesn't really sound like a typical footy commentator, just some mad bloke like Sky's darts commentator.
