We’ve diagnosed the problems, identified the targets and given our recommendations....now it’s your turn.

There’s nothing every football fans loves more than to speculate on where their team needs to strengthen, how much to spend and who to buy. Our team-by-team analysis of what needs to be done is the perfect chance for just that.

We have pinpointed the weak spots and given our suggestion for who should be the number one priority as well as a handful of alternatives.

Will Martin O'Neill heed our advice? Have we missed a trick? Is our budget unrealistic? Who would YOU sign? Don’t be shy in letting us know by dropping us a comment at the foot of the page. Let the debate commence.....

Full Back - Paolo Ferreira (Chelsea): Roman Abramovich has got more right backs than yachts so he probably won’t even notice if one goes walkabout. It is no secret that Villa were in trouble when they had the might of Nigel Reo Coker at right back and Luke Young on the left so this must be one of Martin O’Neill’s priorities. Ferreira can fulfil both roles and isn’t as past it as many would have you believe.
Alternatives: Armand Traore (Arsenal), Micah Richards (Manchester City)

Centre Back - Ryan Shawcross (Stoke): Do NOT adjust your set – this could just be the man to replace Martin Laursen. The guy has been an absolute out-and-out revelation for The Potters this season, he’s English and he loves a set piece.
Alternatives: Thomas Vermaelen (Ajax), Brede Hangeland (Fulham), Madjid Bougherra (Rangers)

Centre Midfield - Antonio Apono (Malaga): For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure, this guy’s an absolute lung-buster. We’re more than prepared to cash in on Gareth Barry and this is the man to fill the void....with nine goals in thirty league games this season, he's certainly no mug.
Alternatives: Scott Parker (West Ham), Tom Huddlestone (Tottenham)

Striker - Darren Bent (Tottenham): O’Neill’s attacking philosophy is based around two very definite virtues – pace and power. Why not combine the two? John Carew and Emile Heskey are both likely to continue as the ‘big men’ and Gabriel Agbonlahor is a shoo-in for the future despite seeing the Villa fans turn on him this season. You’ve got to think Spurs will look to move Bent on and he could just be the one to cover the bases for O’Neill.
Alternatives: Michael Owen (Newcastle), Kevin Doyle (Reading)

Kevin Doyle might be a real possibility as Reading are staying down and Coppell isn't there anymore. He wouldn't really be that expensive now. Ferreira could also be available fairly cheaply and is well down the pecking order at Chelsea.

So many unrealistic targets there...

Richards will not leave City for Villa. Darren Bent would be a great buy though.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I'd love to see Kevin Doyle back in the PL and Villa might be a good option. Carew/Heskey do the same job, Agbonlahor is rubbish and I'd ay Kevin Doyle is definitely better although maybe Afonso Alves might be someone worth gambling on when Boro get relegated this weekend, surely he has some sort of clause in his contract that enables him to be bought for around 7m. Although I think Everton would be going for him too if that's the case.
