Why has Nani's name even been brought into this?

We're talking about Wigan here.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

Says who? I'm willing to keep him, talented player...

But the bottom line is, he's not going anywhere near the JJB. Wigan are a small club and he'd feel like shit if he moved there...if he moves it'll be to a fairly big European club...Sevilla, Villareal perhaps.

I think with Rooney's recent performances on the left i'm not sure they need a new winger. I think another CM should be the first thing on the agenda, assuming they're going to go with 4-3-3

No, the problem will be the wingers next season, especially if CR leaves. Rooney is a make-shift LW, and plays well in that position, but cannot be expected to be first choice for a club trying to win major honours.

As far as CM goes, Utd have Fletcher, Anderson, Carrick, Scholes, Hargreaves, Giggs all who can play in that position.

Valencia for 20m is over the top. He'd be a good squad player if Utd can get him for around 10-odd million. But for 20m, you'd expect a winger to at least be first choice, but Valencia would be behind even makeshift Rooney IMO.
When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea.

I wholeheartedly agree. I would love to see Valencia at united, but agreed he'd be a squad player... having said that who isn't? even Ronaldo is prone to being substituted at times, much to his incredulity  but yh he wudn't be first choice. I f we're gonna spend 20 mil, its gotta be on someone of the class of ribery or silva
