blimey well i wudnt want that to happen so i wont pretend to know more than u. All i do is humbly state my opinions and postulate their validity with others. I can tell though people's general demeanour, and in the light of your footballing knowledge, you seem remarkably reticent to disclose your pearls of wisdom, prefering instead to peddle token comments of irrational hatred or undying faith in people/teams

No I am someone who praised Man Utd so much in 06/07 season and even in many parts of 07/08 but this season has been far and few and rightly so. I will explain everything tomorrow but I will congratulate Man Utd when they win the title.

True, but that limits them to posing a 'psychological challenge' rather than one based on points does it not? Obviously, both are key, but the lack of the latter ultimately means that the challenge wasn't too serious.
to borrow ur phrases from the philosophy thread mate, im gonna endeavour to deconstruct that. BOTH ARE KEY.... CHALLENGE WASN'T SERIOUS cos there was no latter... so the former aint key then isit. but the thing is it is, and also, BECAUSE of scheduling, the latter WAS there. We have just gained a 6 point lead for the first time in dunno, but ages. anyhing less than that is not comfy at all...unlike my bed :D
Ok, I'll give you that. Pressure has been applied well, but that's mainly due to the fixture list with us being 2 games behind. This brings me back to my earlier point that their title challenge has been masked by the above. But as you say, it still constitutes a title challenge! Next season I think the challenge will be more consistent and less based on games in hand, but it may not then push us as close give that Liverpool were top at various points recently.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I think Liverpool will sustain this years challenge much better than Arsenal sustained their challlenge this year from the one before. Their mental strength will see to that. Couple of signings again preferably top class wide players, Riera isn't the answer and I can't see Aurelio having a better season than this one.

this may be an unfounded prediction but i truly believe that next year is their last chance at the title with this current team

carragher and gerrard are the life blood of that team and i think they have one or maybe even 2 peak seasons left in them. once they start declining i think so will liverpool. unless of course they invest heavily.
