Hello and welcome to our fifth match-up in the Liquid Football World Football Draft. You know the drill by now, so let's crack on. Voting - Players must be judged solely on their performance from 1992 onwards! - <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<You are voting for which team you believe is best, NOT which team would win a one-off game. Teams are judged on an individual basis. VOTE FOR THE BEST TEAM>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> - Please bear in mind that football matches are not won on paper, so when voting, many other factors should be considered.
?
Which team is best? Discussion may begin. |

PsycoStu, love your team, but before I can vote for you, who were Sammer and Jarni? |

Sammer was an immense CB that also played CM/AM for parts of his career. He was a rock at the back whilst also being able to play great football. Ballon d'Or winner in 96 and he won the CL with Dortmund. He was captain of the successful German Euro 96 team. 74 caps and 14 goals. If his career wasnt cut short by injury we would be talking about him as one of the greatest ever. Jarni was an attacking fullback from Croatia. Part of the 98 world cup team that finished 3rd. He played for Real madrid and Juventus amongst others. Coventry signed him but sold him without making any appearances in 98 when real madrid doubled what they had originally paid. Very solid defensively which great stamina to get up and down. Impressive passer of the ball too as he made lots of assists. |

Wow, 2 great teams here. Both very well balanced and strong throughout. My only concern is that Eto'o coul get stranded a bit Roonaldo. For Barca he has Henry and Messi flanking him who are always there to help him in attack. Could Donadoni and Giggs do the same thing? Donadoni especially. |

Why wouldn't it be wise to play messi on the left? He's not quite way out on the left anyway, its more left central and he has permission to roam as much as he wants. He can influence the game with his magic from just behind a very prolific scorer in Vieri (24 in 24 for Atleti and 103 in 144 for inter) Gazza between 92-96 was amazing. Such a complete playmaker. He loved the game and controlled the ball like a snake charmer. He'd pick out the easy passes all day whilst also completing all the passes that gerrard attempts and fails with. He got on the score sheet regularly too. |

Both donadoni and giggs are well known for getting up in support of the striker, although donadoni was much more of a provider than scorer. Don't forget i have rivaldo to get up in support of eto'o, he will love the freedom i have given him, plus luis enrique was also renowned for his support of the attack |

For your next round I'd suggest swithcing Zola and Messi... Messi is much more effective on the right, ditto Arjen Robben. |

They both have freedom to move and swap around anyway just like Ronaldo and Nani sometimes do. |

Elcule's vote: Roonaldo. Defensively it's a lot more compact - plus he has 5 Barcelona players. It's really close actually, this group is properly the group of death, but yeah, Roonaldo just wins. |
![]() Winner. "If I go to Anfield and someone puts the ball into the box and Carragher hammers it out of play the fans applaud. At Camp Nou you would never be applauded for that." - Xavi | |
