That would make more sense with the scoreline but as far as i know he's definately out of that.

Er, no; Iniesta is out for 10 days. The Copa Del Rey is tonight.

Listening to the transfer talk on Revista De Liga is like reading The Sun. Bollocks.

I hate the way Balague says everything so confidently, his predictions rarely come true so I don't know why he bothers. "Ronaldo will join Madrid this Summer" *while nodding his head as if he was in the room watching Fergie and Calderon shaking hands.

He's also confidently predicting Guardiola will retire within two years as that's what he has been saying in confidential conversations with his friends.

 Yeah that's the sort of comment! Saying things that nobody could possibly know, I like listening to him when he's talking about football but you see his eyes lighting up when it comes to the transfer talk and then he comes with something like that. I'd believe The Sun's 'a source' before him.

Graham Hunter believes Vidic will be off to Barca this summer. These are knowledgeable pundits, with inside info.

Well we'll have to see if it's true. I'm not worried one bit because most of what they say doesn't come true. I bet Barcelona don't make a bid or even an enquiry for that matter. They might get kids who aren't regulars that bwe signed from them in the first place but first team key players, no chance Utd will listen.

If we can get another Piqué i'll be delighted; I doubted him at the start of this season but he's grown into his role really well. He's a lot better than Puyol at the moment and, dare I say it, better than Evans too.

I'm not sure whether he's better than evans or not, fergie obviously doesn't think so or he would have kept him and sold evans. Pique has clearly benifited from starting regularly, i'm pleased that he is fulfilling his potential

Haven't seen a whole lot of him this season but in the games I seen, he did look a much better player than he was at Utd where he was a bit unassured. Obviously I'm a bit biased but Evans has impressed me in ways Pique certainly didn't last season, I'd say easily twice the player but Pique has made improvements and I'm glad he's doing well and we have Evans who has really made an impression so I think the move suited everybody.

Last season Pique wasn't as strong or as dominating as he should've been for the size of him and Evans although smaller seems better equipped in the Premier League but Pique also had a very good season at Zaragoza and now at Barca so maybe he's just better suited for La Liga wehich is perfectly understandable.

Piqué last season I agree was nothing, and that's very much the way he started his Barca career as well but the improvements he has made have been staggering. When people say 'Oh look Barca's best defender couldn't even get into the United team', they're completely missing the point; they presume that because he wasn't a world beater at United that he can't improve, that view is plain ignorance - he's just a completely different player now.

I can guarentee he will start for Spain in 2010 and his presence greatly strengthens their chances.

Just shows how much players can improve when given the chance. He was never a serious replacement for Rio or Vidic while Evans is a little more competent this season. Maybe the speed of La Liga helps too, he looks a bit slow off the mark at Utd, poor poor acceleration IMO.

How does he fare in Spain against really quick forwards? :deepthought:
Is he naturally not quick or has he improved there aswell although his better decision making would compensate a lot for a lack of acceleration.

He seems to read the game very well so that makes up to a large extent for his lack of pace. We haven't played against that many electric players tbh; he kept Villa quiet, didn't play against Aguero, played well against Villareal despite us conceding three. He plays well alongside Marquez best, Marquez and Piqué both read the game very very well but are prone to silly errors - if they can both cut these out then we'd be a defensive force. When Puyol plays he tends to lose his man at set pieces far too easily, and all too often get caught out of position - he's not the player he once was, which is one of the reasons we should be looking for a new CB.

Well yeah I knew he didn't play too much at the start of the season but Villa was the man I was initially thinking of and if he kept him quiet then it's well done to him. Puyol seem to be poor in terms of organising a defence and being a reliable part of a defensive unit. Some of the world best would look poor alongside him, I never rated him tbh, a very poor mans Nadal.
