Diego Forlan and Frederick Kanoute are world class; They are so under-rated

People always talk about certain strikers and rightly so but they never talk about Forlan and Kanoute which is insulting because I consider these two as good as anyone. Diego Forlan scores goal after goal in a side which has a poor midfield and Kanoute has to be the most composed striker in world football because no matter how fast the game is played at he just seems to glide around the pitch without losing his head. Sergio Aguero might be more talented but if you ask me who has been more influential then I would say Forlan without a doubt and at times he has becoming a one man team. Both players are unrecognizable from their days in the premierleague because when they left England many people considered them as maybe good players at best but now they world class strikers who could play for any team in world football.

Just watch Forlans goal from yesterday............WOW

But doesn't it also outline the difficulty of both leagues?

Forlan struggled to get to grips with the PL, he was good at best, whilst Kanoute was very good at best. Both showed some great quality so maybe I'm doing them a disservice, but both have done exellently at their respective clubs. Goal tally for each?

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Forlan has 27 and Kanoute has 18

Yes its true the defences in la Liga arent so strong but I believe both has improved in almost every aspect particularly Forlan who seems so much more mentally stronger.

LOOK AT THIS 24 SECONDS

I agree with you Homer, particularly your point about Forlan being FAR more important to Atleti than the more sought after Aguero. He is a great all round player and his goal record this season is once again testament to that.

I have repeatedly stressed Kanouté's quality and I'm glad that he too is finally being recognised.

Now, the caveat; people will argue that 'oh they didn't cut it in the Premier League so they can't be all that'. This may be the case, but to dismiss their undoubted quality on those grounds is wrong on two counts. Firstly, the strength of the Premier League has greatly increased since these players left to such an extent that, when Forlan and Kanouté were Premier League regulars, the PL was about as strong as La Liga is now. My second point is that i believe confidence to be a large factor in these player's reversal of fortunes; that has been the main factor in their huge goal returns - could a PL defence have saved Forlan's shot at the weekend? I don't think so.

World class is an exaggeration though.

It's a matter of personal preference regarding what makes a world class player; I personally wouldn't say either is World Class but that is no insult to them.

Just want everybody to know that i was saying that Forlan was top quality when he was at United. Great player, but not world-class. Very close though. Haven't seen much of Kanoute so can't comment on him
