We all know that these two are an absolutely formidable partnership, and without being nostalgic, I think they are up there with the very best of centre-back pairings ever, but has anyone else noticed that Vidic is a better RCB than LCB, despite not being accustomed with it often?

I think Vidic and Evans is a better duo but you cant keep Ferdinand out of the side because he is a rock at the back and he can read the game better than any of his defensive partners |

I think all three possible partnerships are top class and it's a luxury to have a player like Johnny Evans who is so competent. He seems to pick up loads of knocks though

Funny how Ferdinand has performed just as admirably in Vidic's absense down the years, most notably Roma (A), Barca (A), Barca (H) - 3 most important games en-route to CL final

It's amazing how far Vidic has come and learnt so much. He came to the PL as a nobody, an average defender hoping to break into the starting lineup, not only has he done that but he is now also one of the best Center backs around. He is living proof that hard work and dedication pays off. |

I remember the Spartak Moscow coach said that Vidic would be Ferdinands partner in CB and I was thinking are you sure? because I had never even heard of him at the time but he was spot on all the time. |

I actually think Terry is better than Vidic nowadays tbh...He's not only collossal at the back but he has much better reading of the game. Imo it goes... Terry Vidic Carvalho Chiellini Ferdinand |

I don't think that's true tbh. I think Vidic is as good as he is because the United defensive coaches have tought him so well and disciplined him very well. I reckon I could go to United and get coached for a few years by the United defensive set up and Fergie and be a competent PL footballer, that's how good United's methods are. Like people have said in this topic, he was just an average defender, no better than Skrtel when he first came to England, but he's been taught to the highest standard. |

Ofcourse United coaches have tought him well. But you can't tell me he is the player today because of the coaches and not because he is also dedicated and works hard. |
