I would rather spend on 1 or 2 top CBs than buy a DM, a position I do not believe in at all. Would be a hindrance to our attacking football, as we saw when Denilson has played there from November on.
I am soft.

Denilson alone isnt enough and I dont think he is good enough anyway

Denilson and Ramsey are/will be good enough.

But if Wenger goes for someone who is better I am all for it. But the priority should be central defense.

I still think you'd need to bulk up your midfield slightly. Assuming you play this:

Walcott-----Cesc------Denilson-----Arshavin

That's quite lightwiehgt. I think you'd need a tough tackler, maybe not a DMF as that's a positional term, but at least someone with tenacity and a lot of energy like Flamini had.

Every team to win the EPL has had a quality defensive minded midfielder, even Carrick has played as one. Its not media rubbish it's fact. I can't believe your still arguing this point.

Denilson will bring tactial nuance instead of Flamini's tencacity, and also a great passing range.

Almunia
Sagna New CB/Toure New CB Clichy/Gibbs
Nasri Cesc Denilson Arshavin
Van Persie Walcott/Eduardo

You didn't watch United 06/07-08/09 did you? Neither of the CMs in those years was "dedicated" to ball winning. Both players do it equally.

Correct. Also seven, DMF is only a relatively new concept, before the 1990s most teams just played 2 CM's, so I'm guessing it does work.

Exactly, DaG is saying that all you need is 2 competent defenders.

But United had a strong defence
Exactly. 2 CBs who excel at their jobs WITHOUT protection from midfield, something we need.

Wenger has still not adjusted to a defense without Vieira.
