I'm sick of this arguement. If given the choice I would have Rooney and Berbatov up front because there's a better mix of qualities, there's explosiveness and composure, the latter is something we missed last season no matter what anyone thinks. Rooney and Tevez are very similar, the things Tevez offers, Rooney offers too and Wayne has got more to his game too, is a better finisher and in the last couple of months gets into better positions than Tevez and with his better finishing it obviously means more. Berbatov is doing well, of course he's not destroying teams but Tevez didn't either last season in his first term at the club and who knows, he might do better in his second season than the Argentine. If everyone was to look at how many goals we've scored this and last season bar Ronaldo's goals, it's pretty similar (I'd say dead even or better this season) and in a season where NO TOP 4 TEAM has a great goalscoring record that isn't bad, it's an improvement. Ronaldo hasn't scored near as many free-kicks and penalties and thgis is an area that doesn't regard Tevez one bit. For me our "lack" of goals this season is down to Ronaldo not scoring as many, sure his finishing hasn't been as good, he plays a bit more out on the wing but that shouldn't make a huge difference, lots of his goals as I said, came from dead ball situations and lot's more were from positions inside the box, or making a run from THE RIGHT-WING. People are makiing way too much out of this and to say we are worse this season because Ronaldo is on the wing is not right and to suggest this is all because Tevez isn't in the team is just plain and simply wrong. Tevez scored important goals last season, well Berbatov has scored some this season. Tevez at this point last season had made a pretty similar contribution in goals as Berbatov has this season in regards to games and goals. Don't forget he got 2 against Derby, 2 against Newcastle and we don't have a Derby in the league this time and Newcastle although they aren't doing too good are better in defence than the one that got smashed up in most games last season. There's nothing in it. To suggest that we aren't scoring as many because Tevez isn't in the team is wrong, there are many other factors that don't even involve our club, as to why this is. Some people will prefer Tevez, some Berbatov and this is normal especially when the two players are so contrasting in style. Tevez' style means he's a real favourite with the fans and the'll stick up for him, Berbatov not so much, his criticism comes from the Tevez lovers mainly and because he doesn't do what Tevez does, well that's because they're diffrerent players. Not to say he hasn't made a good contribution, how a fan can say otherwise is really beyond my comprehension. This is my last post in this and any other Tevez v Berbatov type debate because I'm sick to death of doing it. |
