Ipswich Town manager Roy Keane has stated his former club Manchester United and Arsenal have should get back to their former fighting days.

The former Red Devils captain feels the two sides have developed a "pally-pally" relationship, and feels they should get back to the good old days of their bitter rivalry.

The United-Arsenal encounters during Keane's day were tense and well fought affairs, with the 37-year-old highlighting the individual rivalry between himself and former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira.

Speaking to The Mirror, Keane said, "As a player I loved the games against Arsenal but nowadays they are far too pally-pally. We need to go back to the old days because those are the games I really miss playing in. They were really feisty and brilliant affairs and were the real games for me."

The Red Devils take on the Gunners in their Champions League semi-final second leg tie on Tuesday, in a game where the first finalist for this year's competition will be decided.

Roy Keane is right thats why this week I wont be a nice guy because it really is do or die and the importance of this game is indescribable. I have been too nice and too respectful to United and even said well done :greatpost: I will not lose my touch I am ready to come out fighting and fight it face on.

Too nice and respectful? :hysterics: Homer, you've spent the entire season telling us all how shit we've been and how we don't deserve the title.

roy keane spends too much of his time talking about other people and other clubs. He should concentrate on ipswich instead of tryin to be the centre of attention

Exactly, hence the increased rivalry with Benitez this year.
