Yesterday Homer Liverpool had scored 3 goals more and obviously conceded 3 goals more too since the GD was the same. There has been very little in Utd's and Liverpool's attack AND defence this season and bear in mind Liverpool scored 4 goals in most of their previous 5/6 games so the chances are that we were higher scorers than them for the majority of the season. You keep brining up the point of our defence being the reason our GD is so high but you're wrong. NO team has been outstanding in terms of goals scored this season and Liverpool's purple patch in February is the only reason they were level with us in terms of goals scored and conceded, of course they've played a game more and that's why they're now ahead. |

You both need to stop complaining about how and where teams got their goals. ManYou, you seem to be asserting that as Liverpool went on a purple patch they therefore don't count as a good goalscoring side - shall we discount United's defensive run as an argument for them having a good defence? Homer, who cares who United scored against? Liverpool didn't score against those teams, so that is more a reflection of Liverpool's profligacy up front rather than United being average. |

Liverpool have fewer resources as well plus Torres and Gerrard have only played 13 times together this season. |

Well that's just indicative of their lack of depth - another reason that can be utilised to claim that they do not deserve to win the title. |

Homer thinks we've been shit going forward all season and that Liverpool have been the opposite and I'm just showing him that barring that purple patch, they've been hardly any better than us. Still though we haven't had a good run of goalscoring and Liverpool have and that's the fact of the matter but you would swear they've scored a ton more goals than us the way Homer goes on. I'm pretty sure they only went ahead of us in goals scored the day they hammered us at OT and another 4 goals v Blackburn and 5 v Villa and a game extra played and they're not so far ahead in goals scored. I think he's a little harsh on Utd and very generous to Liverpool despite there being little in it. |

Well should Fergie go out and buy a load of average players for 5m-10m and let them sit on the bench like Rafa? We have two 30m strikers and then Tevez who's potentially a 30m striker. One has to be on the bench! And it's not our fault that Fletcher is better than the 17m Anderson or that 3.5m Park is better than 15m Nani. I'm pretty sure Liverpool have spent more than Utd in recent years so the only difference is we've bought better prospects that will naturally cost a lot more and we bought Berba on deadline day. |

The team that has the resources to cope with a strenous Premier League season, coming out of it on top, deserves to win the league. If that is the richest team, then so be it. Also remember that United have had to strech their resources even further through extended participation in the World Club Cup, the CL, the FA Cup and the Carling Cup. |

Well we got most of that back from prize money and our team/squad has better players so I think that's 50m well spent. How's Degan doing in the reserves? |
