"Ladies and Gentlemen, that's a wrap." Fucking. Dream. Team. Where to begin? What a performance! People will say we were aided by Madrid; the famous Real Madrid, the ones who never give up a title race; the team that always win when Higuain scores; the team that wins every game no matter how far down they are - except against decent teams; THE MADRID THAT WANTED IT MORE THAN BARCA!?!?!?!?! HA! You were found out tonight big time, found out fucking big time. People had the fucking nerve to suggest that this was the night we would lose the title; that Barcelona are bottlers. We proved you all wrong tonight. I am so proud of this team, so proud it is untrue. When we went 1-0 down i feared for us, the crowd were baying for blood, Abidal was playing like the Abidal of old and Madrid looked like they could score at will. We kept our nerve and Thierry "L'Assasin" Henry popps up and scores with his foot - something a Real player could never do. Carlos "Tarzan" Puyol makes it two with a bullet, Messi misses about seven chances and then finally puts one in to make it three one and finally give us some breathing space. Second half the ref decides firstly to tackle Messi, then give a freekick for something that wasn't a foul leaving MAdrid to expose possibly the worst marking i have ever seen. I was worried at this point. Fucking big time worried, shouting at the tv and then Thierry popps up again and i just burst into tears. I knew we'd won the title there and then and so did the team, Messi added another with a beaut and Gerard "£5.5m? I'll snap your fucking hand off son!" Pique got the goal his fucking dominant performance deserved. Phenomenal in his first classico. Absolute blinder. Every player played their heart out tonight and like I said I'm ridiculously proud; Madrid may have been shit but when we play like that we can beat any team; I don't really want to talk about Chelsea but i'm so fucking sure we can beat them, we are just destined for the treble, i can feel it. Player Rater: Valdes - 6 - Couldn't do much about the goals but was always off his line in time and looked assured under crosses. Alves - 7 - Got forward well but didn't have the greatest impact, a perfromance full of energy and passion nontheless. Puyol - 6 - Wonderful goal, gave us belief. Shit marking for both goals though. Piqué - 10 - Absolute mammoth. I don't think i've ever seen a better performance from a Barca centre back - not saying much, but still - won everything, was the only one who actually picked up his men at crosses, never lost the ball, distributed perfectly, even ran up the other end to nab himself a cheeky winner. Perfect. Abidal - 6 - Looked shaky early on and was beaten far too easily by Robben and Ramos, recovered well and looked solid for the last 70 mins. Touré - 8 - Beast in midfield. Won everything, dominated Diarra, set us forward on every attack, is starting to link wonderfully with Xavi and Iniesta. Iniesta - 7 - Helped to dominate midfield, some wonderful touches and fought his heart out, not as creative as usual though. Should have had a penalty. Xavi - 9.5 - Masterful. Don't think he lost the ball, made Gago look like an amateur, set up Henry's first, Puyol's and both of Messi's, tackled superbly, if anyone comes close to Piqué it's Xavi. Henry - 9 - Would have been 10 if he'd stayed on, beat Ramos every time, some sublime touches, two shots, two great goals, the Henry of old came to haunt the Bernabeu tonight, his ghost returning from its vacation. Kept his head for the vital first and fourth goals. Eto'o - 7 - I felt so sorry for Eto'o, he so wanted a goal but he was stuck on the right for most of the game letting Messi miss all the chances that he would have taken. Still, held it up very well and rarely gave it away; played a key part in the last goal. Messi - 7 - Not the best performance from the Messiah, had so many chances to score and was frankly wasteful. It's a crime that he didn't get a hatrick. Dazzling runs and two good finishes, was very selfish though. So proud. Are you watching Chelsea? |

Absolutely brilliant performance, but at what cost my son? Henry limps off, Xavi, Eto'o,Alves, Messi played a full 90 minutes - the third in one week. A truly heroic performance shall be required on Wednesday formt he Blaugrana. Let's hope it doesn't disappoint. |

You keep saying we'll be tired. We've rested players all season for this period and its working, confidence will be skyhigh having just basically won the league and the players will know they can rest at the weekend, the finishing line is in sight. I really think tiredness is a smaller factor than you're making out. Elcule - - - Moon |

OK ELCULE WELL DONE BARCELONA WERE JUST SUBLIME TONIGHT AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN REAL MADRID TAKE SUCH A BEATING IN THE SANTIAGO BERNABEU SO I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO YOU IT WAS A TRUELY WONDERFUL EXHIBITION. IM PRETTY SURE THAT LA LIGA IS NOW WON AND I THINK THE TREBLE WILL BE ON ITS WAY TO THE CATALAN CLUB THIS SEASON WHICH IS REMARKABLE AND UNHEARD OF IN SPANISH FOOTBALL ITS A CREDIT TO EVERYONE ASSOCIATED AT BARCELONA. HOWEVER BARCELONA ARE BOTTLERS AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN SO LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS

What I said is true though and you only win games because you are so good not because you have such a strong mentality. |

GREAT GAME BARCA WELL AND TRULY DESERVED THE WIN AND WILL NOW WIN LA LIGA HOWEVER I DONT THINK THEY WILL WIN THE CL THERE DEFENCE TO ME IS NOT AS SOLID WHICH MAY COST THEM IN THE CL FAR AS THE LEAGUE GOES THEY HAVE WALKED AWAY WITH NOONE REALLY DOUBTED THEM MADRID GOT THRASHED IN THERE OWN BACKYARD AND THAT TELLS YOU THE STORY. MADRID LACKED BELIEF AND PASSION TODAY AND IF THEY ARE TO BOUNCE BACK THEY NEED A WHOLE NEW ATTITUDE AND QUITE FRANKLY ITS BEEN A BAD SEASON ALL ROUND FOR MADRID BUT NOT FOR BARCA THEY HAVE MADE HISTORY ALL SEASON LONG AND DESERVE TO BE WHERE THEY ARE |

Real Madrid battled until the very end, but Barcelona were too much to handle at the Bernabeu. The Whites felt the absence of Guti and Sneijder in the midfield and Pepe in defense, the two sections of the pitch dominated by the Azulgranas. The defeat brings the impressive 18-match undefeated streak to an end and distances Real Madrid from the league title. “Despite getting off to a good start, Barcelona dominated the match. We got our hopes up after taking the lead but they scored two goals soon after and the we didn’t have time to reorganize. The team tried it’s best to get back into it, but it wasn’t meant to be. It is a painful loss for us and our fans, but hats off to Barcelona. They are a great team and deserving winners,” says Wesley Sneijder. “Tomorrow we will start preparing for our next match. There are four matches left and we must win them. An important battle was lost this weekend, but we will continue working hard and will finish the season as best we can.” Would things had been different had Sniejder and Pepe been playing? |
