Diaby isn't first choice, I have already named Cesc and Ade...so you have come up with Almunia and Nasri and I will add Toure...fair play. OK so that's 5 1st team regulars that didn't start then...hardly the whole team is it. For Tuesday reckon we'll have to resort to: Almunia Sagna Toure Djourou Gibbs Walcott Cesc Song Diaby Nasri Ade or Bendtner That's if injury allows, and the players in bold started today. At the end of the day, it was an important game as I have already stated, and there is no guarantee we would have got the points from our last 3 fixtures as already stated. We have been plagued by injury and Wenger imo has done extremely well to balance this and the fixture on Tuesday under such circumstances. You also neglect it's the end of the season and player fatigue has to be factored in also. I just don't get you sometime Scholes, but then again, you are a United fan after all ;) Edited by GoonerPaul, May 2 2009, 10:37 PM.

I never said Wenger wasn't right in his selection, I was merely bringing it up to outline my view that it was a nothing game ![]() Then you proceeded to tell us how the team that played today MIGHT be the team that plays on Tuesday, telling us that Wenger was forced to select that bench due to injuries ![]() Fair enough if you don't consider it a nothing game, but the odds of you losing to United, Chelsea, and Stoke at home, whilst Villa won all their remaining games, would've been borderline impossible

To me I don't relish playing you at O/T, or Chelsea at home for that matter...not right now, and lose those 2, that leaves Stoke, who we should beat on paper, but we are sh1t at defending againt Delap...to me today was a sigh of relief, and gives Arsenal a lifeline for next season in keeping players that have regular CL aspirations. |
