Really hard call.

Giggs has been around for donkeys years and was one of the most exciting players in Europe for many years. Scholes has been a genius, Keane a monsterous midfielder who bossed the midfield but my vote goes to Cantona.

He was a supremely gifted player and is arguably the man who made Utd the force they are today, he brought us up that level and I think he was a huge influence (in a different way to Keane) and was the man behind our titles back then. Obviously we lost the title to Blackburn after he got banned for his kung-fu antics and the season after he had retired Arsenal on the league, which just emphasises how pivitol he was and how sorely he was missed.

He just oozed class and was my favourite player in the early to mid 90's. I really liked Giggs back then because he was so exciting as a player and it took something special to keep him from being my favourite and 'King Eric' was certainly special. Such an uncompromising player and to follow on from the Dictator v Definer thread, he was both for us back then.

A lot of people won't even consider him a contender for this, but who is the only player on this list that call himself the best player in the world in his hay-day? C.Ronaldo. I can't decide who's no.1 but Ronaldo definetly can't be ignored

Ronaldo is one of few on that list that is the type of player that gets called best player in the world. Schmeichel was the best keeper in the world, Ferdinand last season was the best defender in the world, Giggs was getting stalked by Milan and Inter for years. Then of course there's the fact that Messi is the best player in the world right now, sure Ronaldo has the crown but it took a 42 goal season for it to happen.

I think there's less competition for that title nowadays tbh, there were so many amazing players in the 90's so the fact that none of Utd's players in that era were seen as the best, is no disgrace.

Ronaldo for me would be about 4th-5th best Utd player since 1992 because I've seen Giggs, Scholes and Keane do it for years.

Cantona for the same reason ManYou gave. There's no coincidence that in his 5 FULL seasons in England he won the league 5 times. The man was a pure genius, beyond what any other player in that list could be.

Yes he has, VDS.

As for the poll, it's difficult to separate some players.
Scholes

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart
