back in 1980 we played the twats at anfield, both teams challenging for the title, they won 2-0, that would be enough for most fans but liverpool, no, they beat up a united fan badly, this happens all the time you may say, well when its a pregnant woman and she loses her baby, its an whole new level, the scousers are scum always will be

Disgusting; there is no excuse for something like that, some people are animals. Ok, i can fully understand why that would affect your views on a team, especially if witnessed at the time, however (you may disagree and I'm not blaming you), I still find it difficult to comprehend how all Liverpool fans can be labelled as "scum bindipping bastards" because of the actions of a select few nearly thirt years ago.

Winner.

I'm guessing it's the same blame mechanism that leads people nowadays to simply blame the atrocities of the Holocaust on Nazi's in general, despite the fact that some had no idea about it.

But yeah, it's not really rational.

yeah i admit you can't tar them all with the same brush, but being at a game when something like that occurs, it leaves a scar, and a deep hatred, then when you get a liverpool fan coming out with a thread titled like this one, it makes the anger come back, leeds united were thigs but even they wouldnt stoop to the low that the so called fans of liverpool did that day

Yeah, I'm only trying to be rational, but I know I would feel the same if it was me in your position. Logic and raw emotion are slightly incongruous at times. :greatpost:

I don't doubt Keown was an Arsenal legend and a good player, but that behaviour is probably the most cuntish thing I have ever seen not only on a football pitch, but anywhere :redangry: :grr: :curse:
You evidently missed this:

Nope, didn't miss it. I think Keown's action's were worse. It was unbelievably unsporting, calculated, and designed to make RVN feel like utter shit. To my mind, things like kicking people in the heat of the moment in the middle of a game is obviously not fine, but understandable. What goes on during a game is only in the game, when passions are running high and the desire to win kicks in - at the end you've gotta shake hands and accept it was only a game. Once that final whistle had gone Keown should've walked away smugly knowing that RVN felt shit about missing the pen, instead he sought to heap as much ridicule on the poor bloke as possible. What the sheep is the point? the game was bloody OVER!!!That behaviour from Keown just makes me sick

Ditto. He is pure scum, but RVN dealt withthat thuggery with pure dignity and professionalism.

Seriously, Frank Lampard is an absolute legend of the game. He needs to be recognised in some way eg. Frank Lampard OBE, Sir Frank Lampard or some kind of lifetime achievement award.

Greatest ownage machine: Scholes. Absolute animal when he was a regular poster, I always knew I was in the right when he was backing me up, and I couldn't wait to read a topic that he was posting in because I knew he'd be tearing someone apart

I just had a good chuckle with the wife over the RVN accident actually. Fucking class. I remember how mental me and a couple of my gooner mates went down the pub when RVN missed that. We kind of did the same thing with the United fans who were all gutted. It was just one of those moments where there's such an eruption of emotion that you turn into a complete animal. And RVN diving to get Vieira sent off earlier in the game made it al the more intense.
