The reason Injuries have cost Arsenal more than United is because they don't have strength in depth. Whereas United have adequate cover for each player, Arsenal have inexperienced youngsters. |

Ye you have a good point there but you cant go against your philosophy especially when you have limited funds and have the youngest squad in european football. |

Yeah there's no doubt that Arsenal have had it worse but I think Homer underestimates our problems, we have had a lot of first choice and/or key players out for around a month or two and that will hurt any team. The fact that we have a bigger squad is absolutely irrelavent, as I said the whole point of having a squad is for this very reason. We've had key players out and that is what hurts teams no matter hat size squad you have. Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Scholes, Rooney have all missed a few games and they are (bar Vidic) our most important team members. |

You will always have players missing a few games but to miss most of the season is just a real kick in the teeth and the fact that Silvestre and Toure are the only two fit CB's just illustrates what this season has been like. Anyway no matter who plays I always want the team to give their best and thats all you can ask for at the end of the day. Berbatov cost more than the whole of Arsenals starting XI which kind of puts things into perspective. Im off now see you this afternoon. |

LIMITED FUNDS???? Arsenal Football Club is financially far more stable/sustainable than Manu and Chelsea, you're making an absolute killing from the new stadium and the selling off of Highbury for apartments. Plus the backing of Usamov or whatever he's called... it's a well documented and often wondered about point that Wenger has a huge amount of funds, he will always be backed by the board cos he's got such a good record in the transfer market, but he never uses those funds for some reason...maybe it's the philosophy

Homer Homer Homer... Fabregas out for 90% of the season? Don't exaggerate. He was out for roughly the same time as Scholes, and even before his injury, he was awful, and that was during your poor spell of form that ruled you out the title race by December! Fabregas has not been that big a loss, at all tbh. Wenger should've known about Eduardo and Rosicky, but it's debatable as to whether they're first XI players. Your defence has been pretty much undisrupted throughout the entire season. It's only now you've suffered in that area, whereas United's defensive injuries have been horrific pretty much all season, but we managed to keep clean sheets with a different back 4 every week. Continuity is vital, especially in defence, and it's lucky it hasn't cost us too much. As for decisions, apart from Ronaldo's penalty against Bolton, I cannot think of any other unfair decisions that have gone our way...we should've had two stone-wall penalties against Villareal, and we'd probably be in the FA Cup final had the referee made the right decision on Sunday! Paul Robinson's sending off is debatable. Park was ALWAYS going to get there first, and yet Robinson dives in like a lunatic at 100mph, and slams into Park DANGEROUSLY. But that's pretty irrelevant as the game was sewn up against a poor side! As for Liverpool, look at them...Gerrard's penalty award against Athletico, Lampard's ridiculous sending off after winning a tackle...they've had the rub of the green all season but no comment on them. I remember several decisions going Arsenal's way...a few at Hull, Wigan not awarded a stone-wall penalty at the Emirates, other penalty claims not awarded, Gallas' offside winner against Hull... That's just off the top of my head. I made this thread as a joke, like you've mentioned yourself, but there is actually an element of truth behind it
